Abstract

Language-aware 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) has advanced language-driven 3D scene understanding by incorporating semantic and relational cues into reconstructed scenes. However, relation-aware grounding depends not only on representing such information, but also on whether the underlying scene-side evidence is reliable and sufficient. Multi-view semantic aggregation can incorporate weak observations, while object relations can remain under-observed along the available camera trajectory, leading to ambiguous evidence for target disambiguation. We present RelateGS, a structured language-aware Gaussian representation that selectively refines semantic and relational evidence for 3D visual grounding. RelateGS suppresses unreliable observations during semantic feature uplifting and consolidates multi-view object observations into a persistent 3D graph. The graph further identifies under-observed object relations and guides targeted re-querying of informative existing frames to complement their evidence. Experiments on Sr3D+ and Nr3D demonstrate competitive 3D grounding performance, improving the previous best by 7.9 and 1.7 percentage points at [email protected], respectively.

ReLaGS: Relational Language Gaussian Splatting

Achieving unified 3D perception and reasoning across tasks such as segmentation, retrieval, and relation understanding remains challenging, as existing methods are either object-centric or rely on costly training for inter-object reasoning. We present a novel framework that constructs a hierarchical language-distilled Gaussian scene and its 3D semantic scene graph without scene-specific training. A Gaussian pruning mechanism refines scene geometry, while a robust multi-view language alignment strategy aggregates noisy 2D features into accurate 3D object embeddings. On top of this hierarchy, we build an open-vocabulary 3D scene graph with Vision Language derived annotations and Graph Neural Network-based relational reasoning. Our approach enables efficient and scalable open-vocabulary 3D reasoning by jointly modeling hierarchical semantics and inter/intra-object relationships, validated across tasks including open-vocabulary segmentation, scene graph generation, and relation-guided retrieval. RecallGS: Geometry-Grounded Recall for Online Semantic Gaussian Splatting

Online semantic 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) enables open-vocabulary scene understanding from streaming observations. However, existing methods recover geometric context missing from image-derived semantic features using an additionally learned 3D network, incurring extra training and runtime overhead. We observe that such geometric-semantic evidence may already exist in the agent's observation history and can be retrieved rather than learned. Based on this insight, we introduce RecallGS (Geometry-Grounded Recall for Online Semantic Gaussian Splatting), a lightweight, training-free mechanism that treats past observations as a non-parametric geometric-semantic prior. RecallGS follows a recall-ground-fuse pipeline: CLIP retrieves relevant observations, alpha-compositing weights identify geometrically supported views, and aggregate their semantic features over each Gaussian's rendered footprint. On ScanNet and ScanNet++, RecallGS achieves strong semantic segmentation performance at 2.48 FPS, demonstrating that geometric-semantic context can be effectively recovered from observation history without an additional learned 3D branch.

DSSR-3D: Decoupled Reasoning for View-Dependent Referring in 3D Gaussians

Recent advances in 3D Gaussian Splatting have enabled open-vocabulary and referring segmentation by distilling semantic knowledge from 2D foundation models into 3D representations. However, existing referring fields embed language features in a globally view-invariant space, making them fundamentally unable to resolve observer-centric spatial relations (e.g., "to the left of") that depend on camera pose. We propose DSSR-3D, an inference-time framework for view-dependent referring segmentation on continuous 3D Gaussian fields, formalized as two interfaces - pose-invariant semantic localization and pose-conditioned spatial reasoning - such that any pair of functions satisfying these constraints yields a valid instantiation, requiring no retraining of the underlying semantic field and no reliance on discrete geometric proxies such as bounding boxes. We instantiate the two interfaces with a temperature-sharpened softmax localization mechanism and a projection-based directional scoring function, fused via a lightweight, training-free step, and show they transfer zero-shot to structurally distinct semantic fields without adaptation. We further propose ViewRef-GS, a benchmark isolating view-dependent segmentation on 3D Gaussian fields, evaluated jointly with an augmented Ref-LERF to provide a comprehensive testbed for viewpoint-dependent spatial grounding. Experiments show consistent gains over existing 3DGS-based referring methods, with no additional training beyond the base semantic field
