COw Localization

Cow localization, using computer vision, aims to automatically identify and track individual cows within a given environment, primarily for precision livestock farming applications. Current research focuses on improving the accuracy and robustness of object detection models, such as YOLO variants and novel triple-stream networks, particularly addressing challenges like varying lighting and viewing angles in indoor settings. These advancements enable real-time monitoring of individual and group cow behavior, facilitating improved health management, resource optimization, and ultimately, increased efficiency in cattle farming. The development of publicly available datasets, like the COLO dataset, is crucial for advancing this field.
