Cuneiform Tablet

Cuneiform tablets, ancient clay tablets inscribed with one of humanity's earliest writing systems, are the focus of intense research leveraging advanced digital techniques. Current efforts concentrate on automating the analysis and dating of these tablets using machine learning models, such as convolutional neural networks (CNNs), ResNets, and Variational Autoencoders (VAEs), often focusing on analyzing tablet silhouettes and sign detection to classify and date them. This research significantly improves accessibility to and understanding of this vast historical archive, offering new tools for historians and epigraphists to analyze and interpret these invaluable artifacts.
