Disruption Tolerant Network Node

Disruption-tolerant networks (DTNs) are designed for communication environments with intermittent connectivity, such as space networks, where traditional protocols fail. Current research focuses on optimizing DTN node management, particularly buffer control and routing, using advanced techniques like artificial neural networks and reinforcement learning algorithms (e.g., A2C) to improve message delivery success rates and resource efficiency. This work is significant for enabling reliable communication in challenging environments, with applications ranging from satellite constellations to lunar exploration, and contributes to the broader field of resilient network design.
