Fiduciary Responsibility
Fiduciary responsibility, the legal and ethical duty of an agent to act in the best interests of their principal, is being actively researched in the context of increasingly autonomous artificial intelligence systems. Current research focuses on designing AI that adheres to fiduciary principles, particularly through the application of legal standards and frameworks within AI architectures, such as incorporating legal concepts into large language model training and evaluation. This work aims to build public trust in AI-driven decision-making by promoting transparency and accountability, thereby mitigating the "black box" problem and ensuring fairness in automated systems across various sectors.
