Fog Robotics
Fog robotics leverages edge computing to enhance the capabilities of robots by offloading computationally intensive tasks to nearby servers, improving efficiency and reducing reliance on cloud connectivity. Current research focuses on developing secure and efficient communication frameworks, such as improved versions of ROS, to manage the distributed computing environment and address challenges like class imbalance in federated learning models used for tasks such as object detection and anomaly detection. This approach promises to improve robot performance in resource-constrained environments and enable more complex robotic applications in areas like industrial automation and remote sensing.
