Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis

Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive and fatal lung disease, and research focuses on improving early detection and prognosis prediction. Current efforts utilize advanced image analysis techniques, including convolutional neural networks (CNNs), diffusion models, and novel algorithms for airway segmentation and quantitative texture analysis of CT scans, to identify imaging biomarkers predictive of disease progression and mortality. These computational approaches aim to overcome limitations of current clinical criteria and provide more accurate and timely assessments, ultimately leading to improved patient management and treatment strategies.
