Information Behaviour

Information behavior research investigates how individuals seek, use, and interact with information, focusing on cognitive, behavioral, and affective dimensions. Current research explores how word choice impacts information engagement and decision-making, examines the role of automation (e.g., LLMs, search engines) in learning and knowledge acquisition, and investigates how information behavior insights can improve the design of human-centered AI systems, particularly in fact-checking and political content analysis. These studies utilize various methods, including mixed-methods approaches, surveys, and the application of machine learning and neural network models for automated content analysis, ultimately aiming to enhance our understanding of information processing and improve the design of information systems and AI tools.
