Local Radiance Field
Local Radiance Fields (NeRFs) represent a scene as a collection of smaller, localized NeRFs, addressing the limitations of traditional global NeRFs in handling large-scale scenes and dynamic elements. Current research focuses on efficient scene representation through adaptive allocation and fusion of these local NeRFs, often incorporating geometry awareness and progressive optimization techniques to improve robustness and speed, particularly for challenging scenarios like omnidirectional videos and human avatar modeling. This approach enables high-quality novel view synthesis and other applications like 3D panoptic segmentation and interactive editing, significantly advancing the capabilities of neural scene representation.
