Material Science Knowledge Base

A materials science knowledge base (MatSciKB) aims to compile and organize the vast amount of information scattered across materials science literature, enabling efficient data retrieval and analysis. Current research focuses on developing AI-powered systems, often employing large language models (LLMs) and pointer networks, to automate information extraction from diverse sources, including text, tables, and images, and to address challenges like inconsistent reporting styles and the extraction of complex relationships between material properties. These efforts are crucial for accelerating materials discovery and design, improving the efficiency of materials informatics, and ultimately fostering innovation in various technological sectors.
