Pedestrian Interaction
Pedestrian interaction research focuses on understanding and predicting how people move and interact with each other and their environment, particularly in shared spaces with autonomous vehicles. Current research heavily utilizes machine learning, employing transformer architectures and other deep learning models to analyze large-scale datasets of pedestrian trajectories, often incorporating both egocentric and top-down perspectives. This work is crucial for improving the safety and efficiency of autonomous systems and informing the design of pedestrian-friendly infrastructure, ultimately contributing to safer and more navigable urban environments.
