Perihematomal Edema
Perihematomal edema (PHE), the swelling surrounding a brain hemorrhage, is a critical factor influencing stroke prognosis and treatment. Current research focuses on improving the accuracy and efficiency of PHE detection and quantification using advanced imaging techniques like CT and MRI, employing deep learning models such as 3D convolutional neural networks and attention-based architectures to analyze image data. These efforts aim to develop robust automated diagnostic tools for faster and more precise assessment of PHE, ultimately leading to improved patient care and outcomes. The creation of publicly available datasets is also a key area of focus, facilitating the development and validation of these algorithms.
