Photogrammetric Method
Photogrammetry uses multiple photographs to create three-dimensional models, finding applications across diverse fields from cultural heritage preservation to forestry. Current research focuses on improving accuracy and efficiency, exploring techniques like shape from polarization to enhance resolution and neural radiance fields (NeRF) to handle complex scenes, while also comparing these newer methods against established structure-from-motion and visual-SLAM approaches. These advancements enable more precise measurements and detailed visualizations, impacting fields ranging from archaeology and instrument analysis to precision forestry and military training simulations.
