Reason Giving
Reasoning, the ability of systems to draw inferences and solve problems, is a central focus in artificial intelligence research, particularly concerning the limitations of large language models (LLMs) in complex tasks. Current research emphasizes improving LLMs' reasoning capabilities through techniques like chain-of-thought prompting, fine-tuning with diverse datasets (including those incorporating structured knowledge and program execution traces), and integrating LLMs with external knowledge bases and reasoning engines. These advancements aim to enhance the reliability and applicability of LLMs in various domains, from question answering and text-to-SQL to autonomous driving and robotic task planning.
