Single Arm Spoon
Research on single-arm spoons spans diverse applications, from improving dietary monitoring through computer vision-based food portion estimation to enabling more robust robot-assisted feeding for individuals with disabilities. Current work focuses on developing algorithms for accurate food quantity assessment using stationary cameras and designing novel utensil designs, such as shape-changing spoons, to enhance robotic manipulation and food acquisition. These advancements have implications for both healthcare, improving nutritional tracking and assistive technologies, and robotics, advancing the capabilities of robotic systems for everyday tasks.
