Smart Roadside Infrastructure
Smart roadside infrastructure (SRI) aims to enhance road safety and traffic efficiency by deploying sensor networks and computational models to create a comprehensive digital twin of road conditions. Current research focuses on integrating diverse sensor data (cameras, LiDAR, etc.) using advanced algorithms like neural networks and digital twin architectures to improve real-time traffic state estimation, object detection, and risk prediction. This work is significant for enabling safer and more efficient transportation systems, particularly for autonomous driving, by providing reliable, high-quality data and predictive models for improved traffic management and incident response.
