Social Decision Making
Social decision-making research explores how individuals and artificial agents make choices in social contexts, aiming to understand and optimize behavior for both individual and collective benefit. Current research focuses on developing and evaluating models, including large language models and game-theoretic frameworks, that can predict and influence socially-aware behavior in diverse settings like autonomous vehicle navigation and human-AI collaboration. This work is significant for improving the design of AI systems that interact effectively with humans and for advancing our understanding of human social dynamics, with implications for fields ranging from economics and traffic management to social work and healthcare.
