Stokes Vector
The Stokes vector is a four-element mathematical representation of the polarization state of light, crucial for understanding and manipulating light's wave properties beyond simple intensity. Current research focuses on developing efficient algorithms and neural network architectures, such as neural spectro-polarimetric fields and stacked deep neural networks, to process and analyze high-dimensional Stokes vector data from various sources, including novel hyperspectral-polarimetric imaging systems and polarimetric filter array cameras. This work is driving advancements in diverse fields, from computer vision and remote sensing to solar physics, by enabling more accurate and efficient analysis of polarization information in complex scenes and improving the speed and accuracy of data processing.
