Tablature Transcription

Guitar tablature transcription (GTT) aims to automatically convert audio recordings of guitar performances into symbolic tablature notation, capturing both musical notes and playing techniques. Current research focuses on improving GTT accuracy and robustness by leveraging large-scale synthetic datasets generated using both simulated and real guitar tones, employing techniques like domain adaptation from piano transcription models, and incorporating Transformer-based architectures for generation and analysis. These advancements are significant for music education, composition, and music information retrieval, enabling more efficient transcription and analysis of guitar music.
