Guitar Tablature

Guitar tablature transcription (GTT) aims to automatically generate symbolic representations of guitar music from audio or video recordings. Current research heavily utilizes deep learning, employing transformer models and convolutional neural networks (like YOLO) for tasks such as fretboard detection, note identification, and fingering prediction, often leveraging large, newly created datasets of guitar performances and tablatures. These advancements improve transcription accuracy and address challenges like polyphony and the diverse timbres of electric guitars, impacting music education, composition assistance, and music information retrieval research.
