Text Based Game Environment
Text-based game environments are emerging as valuable testbeds for advancing natural language understanding and artificial intelligence, particularly in areas like planning, decision-making, and social interaction. Current research focuses on using these environments to evaluate large language models (LLMs) as world simulators and to train reinforcement learning (RL) agents, often employing transformer architectures and incorporating external knowledge bases to improve performance. These studies provide crucial insights into LLM capabilities and limitations, informing the development of more robust and explainable AI systems while also offering a controlled setting for investigating complex cognitive processes.
