Social NPC
Social NPC research focuses on creating more realistic and engaging non-player characters (NPCs) for interactive applications, primarily video games. Current efforts concentrate on improving NPC behavior through techniques like behavior tree evolution, reinforcement learning guided by large language models and knowledge graphs, and the development of more sophisticated 3D models directly from video data using point-based representations. This work aims to enhance the believability and interactivity of virtual environments, impacting game development and potentially extending to other fields requiring realistic human-like agents in simulations or virtual worlds.
