Overview

Long video generation studies how to produce sequences that extend beyond short clips without losing visual quality, subject identity, scene structure, or narrative coherence. Common approaches extend diffusion models with overlapping windows or autoregressive chunks, while memory retrieval, compressed context, visual anchors, and agent-based planning help carry information across shots. Work also targets bounded memory and faster inference through efficient attention, token compression, and adaptive computation, with applications including storytelling, talking heads, and synchronized audio-video. Minute-scale generation is increasingly explored, but preventing drift while preserving motion diversity and controllability remains difficult, and evaluation still struggles to measure long-range consistency reliably.

SLVMEval: Synthetic Meta Evaluation Benchmark for Text-to-Long Video Generation

This paper proposes the synthetic long-video meta-evaluation (SLVMEval), a benchmark for meta-evaluating text-to-video (T2V) evaluation systems. The proposed SLVMEval benchmark focuses on assessing these systems on videos of up to 10,486 s (approximately 3 h). The benchmark targets a fundamental requirement, namely, whether the systems can accurately assess video quality in settings that are easy for humans to assess. We adopt a pairwise comparison-based meta-evaluation framework. Building on dense video-captioning datasets, we synthetically degrade source videos to create controlled "high-quality versus low-quality" pairs across 10 distinct aspects. Then, we employ crowdsourcing to filter and retain only those pairs in which the degradation is clearly perceptible, thereby establishing an effective final testbed. Using this testbed, we assess the reliability of existing evaluation systems in ranking these pairs. Experimental results demonstrate that human evaluators can identify the better long video with 84.7%-96.8% accuracy, and in nine of the 10 aspects, the accuracy of these systems falls short of human assessment, revealing weaknesses in text-to-long-video evaluation.

VistaGEN: Consistent Driving Video Generation with Fine-Grained Control Using Multiview Visual-Language Reasoning

Driving video generation has achieved much progress in controllability, video resolution, and length, but fails to support fine-grained object-level controllability for diverse driving videos, while preserving the spatiotemporal consistency, especially in long video generation. In this paper, we present a new driving video generation technique, called VistaGEN, which enables fine-grained control of specific entities, including 3D objects, images, and text descriptions, while maintaining spatiotemporal consistency in long video sequences. Our key innovation is the incorporation of multiview visual-language reasoning into the long driving video generation. To this end, we inject visual-language features into a multiview video generator to enable fine-grained controllability. More importantly, we propose a multiview vision-language evaluator (MV-VLM) to intelligently and automatically evaluate spatiotemporal consistency of the generated content, thus formulating a novel generation-evaluation-regeneration closed-loop generation mechanism. This mechanism ensures high-quality, coherent outputs, facilitating the creation of complex and reliable driving scenarios. Besides, within the closed-loop generation, we introduce an object-level refinement module to refine the unsatisfied results evaluated from the MV-VLM and then feed them back to the video generator for regeneration. Extensive evaluation shows that our VistaGEN achieves diverse driving video generation results with fine-grained controllability, especially for long-tail objects, and much better spatiotemporal consistency than previous approaches.

PackForcing: Short Video Training Suffices for Long Video Sampling and Long Context Inference

Autoregressive video diffusion models have demonstrated remarkable progress, yet they remain bottlenecked by intractable linear KV-cache growth, temporal repetition, and compounding errors during long-video generation. To address these challenges, we present PackForcing, a unified framework that efficiently manages the generation history through a novel three-partition KV-cache strategy. Specifically, we categorize the historical context into three distinct types: (1) Sink tokens, which preserve early anchor frames at full resolution to maintain global semantics; (2) Mid tokens, which achieve a massive spatiotemporal compression (32x token reduction) via a dual-branch network fusing progressive 3D convolutions with low-resolution VAE re-encoding; and (3) Recent tokens, kept at full resolution to ensure local temporal coherence. To strictly bound the memory footprint without sacrificing quality, we introduce a dynamic top-kk context selection mechanism for the mid tokens, coupled with a continuous Temporal RoPE Adjustment that seamlessly re-aligns position gaps caused by dropped tokens with negligible overhead. Empowered by this principled hierarchical context compression, PackForcing can generate coherent 2-minute, 832x480 videos at 16 FPS on a single H200 GPU. It achieves a bounded KV cache of just 4 GB and enables a remarkable 24x temporal extrapolation (5s to 120s), operating effectively either zero-shot or trained on merely 5-second clips. Extensive results on VBench demonstrate state-of-the-art temporal consistency (26.07) and dynamic degree (56.25), proving that short-video supervision is sufficient for high-quality, long-video synthesis. https://github.com/ShandaAI/PackForcing

FlashMotion: Few-Step Controllable Video Generation with Trajectory Guidance

Recent advances in trajectory-controllable video generation have achieved remarkable progress. Previous methods mainly use adapter-based architectures for precise motion control along predefined trajectories. However, all these methods rely on a multi-step denoising process, leading to substantial time redundancy and computational overhead. While existing video distillation methods successfully distill multi-step generators into few-step, directly applying these approaches to trajectory-controllable video generation results in noticeable degradation in both video quality and trajectory accuracy. To bridge this gap, we introduce FlashMotion, a novel training framework designed for few-step trajectory-controllable video generation. We first train a trajectory adapter on a multi-step video generator for precise trajectory control. Then, we distill the generator into a few-step version to accelerate video generation. Finally, we finetune the adapter using a hybrid strategy that combines diffusion and adversarial objectives, aligning it with the few-step generator to produce high-quality, trajectory-accurate videos. For evaluation, we introduce FlashBench, a benchmark for long-sequence trajectory-controllable video generation that measures both video quality and trajectory accuracy across varying numbers of foreground objects. Experiments on two adapter architectures show that FlashMotion surpasses existing video distillation methods and previous multi-step models in both visual quality and trajectory consistency.

InfinityStory: Unlimited Video Generation with World Consistency and Character-Aware Shot Transitions

Generating long-form storytelling videos with consistent visual narratives remains a significant challenge in video synthesis. We present a novel framework, dataset, and a model that address three critical limitations: background consistency across shots, seamless multi-subject shot-to-shot transitions, and scalability to hour-long narratives. Our approach introduces a background-consistent generation pipeline that maintains visual coherence across scenes while preserving character identity and spatial relationships. We further propose a transition-aware video synthesis module that generates smooth shot transitions for complex scenarios involving multiple subjects entering or exiting frames, going beyond the single-subject limitations of prior work. To support this, we contribute with a synthetic dataset of 10,000 multi-subject transition sequences covering underrepresented dynamic scene compositions. On VBench, InfinityStory achieves the highest Background Consistency (88.94), highest Subject Consistency (82.11), and the best overall average rank (2.80), showing improved stability, smoother transitions, and better temporal coherence.

SkyReels-V4: Multi-modal Video-Audio Generation, Inpainting and Editing model

SkyReels V4 is a unified multi modal video foundation model for joint video audio generation, inpainting, and editing. The model adopts a dual stream Multimodal Diffusion Transformer (MMDiT) architecture, where one branch synthesizes video and the other generates temporally aligned audio, while sharing a powerful text encoder based on the Multimodal Large Language Models (MLLM). SkyReels V4 accepts rich multi modal instructions, including text, images, video clips, masks, and audio references. By combining the MLLMs multi modal instruction following capability with in context learning in the video branch MMDiT, the model can inject fine grained visual guidance under complex conditioning, while the audio branch MMDiT simultaneously leverages audio references to guide sound generation. On the video side, we adopt a channel concatenation formulation that unifies a wide range of inpainting style tasks, such as image to video, video extension, and video editing under a single interface, and naturally extends to vision referenced inpainting and editing via multi modal prompts. SkyReels V4 supports up to 1080p resolution, 32 FPS, and 15 second duration, enabling high fidelity, multi shot, cinema level video generation with synchronized audio. To make such high resolution, long-duration generation computationally feasible, we introduce an efficiency strategy: Joint generation of low resolution full sequences and high-resolution keyframes, followed by dedicated super-resolution and frame interpolation models. To our knowledge, SkyReels V4 is the first video foundation model that simultaneously supports multi-modal input, joint video audio generation, and a unified treatment of generation, inpainting, and editing, while maintaining strong efficiency and quality at cinematic resolutions and durations.

Unified Long Video Inpainting and Outpainting via Overlapping High-Order Co-Denoising

Diffusion-based text-to-video models are increasingly capable, but mask-based editing over hundreds of frames remains challenging: naïve long-video generation suffers from memory blow-up, window seams, and temporal drift, while existing editors often require specialized modules or heavy fine-tuning. We present Overlapping High-Order Co-Denoising, a lightweight framework that turns a single pre-trained text-to-video model into a unified inpainting-outpainting editor. We train only LoRA adapters using mixed interior and border masks together with a dual-region loss that improves synthesis inside the mask while explicitly preserving known content. At inference, we denoise long latent sequences using overlapping windows, apply second-order Heun sampling within each window, and fuse overlaps with Hamming-weighted blending to reduce boundary artifacts and improve temporal coherence. On InpaintBench (30 real-world videos, 81--300 frames), our method outperforms Wan 2.1 variants and VACE in background faithfulness (SSIM/LPIPS), temporal consistency (tLPIPS), and text alignment (CLIP), and scales to long horizons, demonstrated up to 800 frames, with memory bounded by the chosen window size.
