Abstract

Verbal-prompted segmentation is inherently limited by the expressiveness of natural language and struggles with uncommon, instance-specific, or difficult-to-describe objects: scenarios frequently encountered in manufacturing and 3D printing environments. While image exemplars provide an alternative, they primarily encode appearance cues such as color and texture, which are often unrelated to a part's geometric identity. In industrial settings, a single component may be produced in different materials, finishes, or colors, making appearance-based prompting unreliable. In contrast, such objects are typically defined by precise CAD models that capture their canonical geometry. We propose a CAD-prompted segmentation framework built on SAM3 that uses canonical multi-view renderings of a CAD model as prompt input. The rendered views provide geometry-based conditioning independent of surface appearance. The model is trained using synthetic data generated from mesh renderings in simulation under diverse viewpoints and scene contexts. Our approach enables single-stage, CAD-prompted mask prediction, extending promptable segmentation to objects that cannot be robustly described by language or appearance alone.

SAM-V: Geometry-Aware Segment Anything for Multi-View Instance Segmentation

Consistent multi-view object segmentation is critical for 3D perception and robotics, yet remains challenging under severe viewpoint and occlusion changes. Existing methods typically perform 3D instance segmentation on point clouds or rely on offline 2D mask-matching pipelines. However, 3D instance segmentation is limited by scarce 3D annotations, while offline 2D matching suffers from object identity ambiguity across frames. To leverage strong 2D and 3D priors jointly, we propose SAM-V (Geometry-Aware Segment Anything for Multi-View Instance Segmentation). Instead of combining the two priors through post-hoc matching, SAM-V directly integrates features from a feed-forward geometry model (VGGT) into a 2D segmentation foundation model (SAM), trained end-to-end for cross-view instance prediction. SAM-V introduces a prompt-fusion mechanism that enriches sparse SAM prompt tokens with view-specific camera tokens and local VGGT features, making the prompt representation both view-aware and spatially grounded, together with a mask decoder that attends to dense 2D and 3D features. By conditioning the mask decoding directly on multi-view geometry, SAM-V produces consistent multi-view segmentation of a prompted object in a single forward pass without offline mask matching or explicit 3D reconstruction. On the IGGT 3D tracking benchmark, where consistent instance identity across frames directly determines performance, SAM-V improves overall IoU by 5 points and frame-level recall by 12 points on the ScanNet++ split over the state-of-the-art multi-view instance segmentation baseline and leads on all metrics in the zero-shot ScanNet split. SAM3D-Part: Interactive Part Selection and Generation from 3D Objects

Part-level control is essential for modern 3D asset creation, where objects are frequently edited, reused, animated, or fabricated through their individual components. In many such workflows, users need only several specific components rather than a complete object decomposition. However, existing 3D generation methods produce all parts regardless of user intent, while promptable 3D segmentation methods typically output partial surfaces instead of reusable complete meshes. In addition, image-conditioned part generators further struggle to preserve hidden geometry and accurate placement without directly conditioning on the source mesh. To address these problems, we present SAM3D-Part, a prompt-driven framework for selective part generation from input 3D object meshes. Given a source mesh and a part prompt, SAM3D-Part first encodes the source geometry into compact mesh features and aligns them with the rendered image, selective mask, and point-map observations via pixel-wise channel fusion. The fused representation conditions a feed-forward generative model to produce only the queried component as a completed mesh. To place the generated part back into the source coordinate frame, SAM3D-Part predicts dense per-voxel correspondences and estimates the part transformation from distributed spatial evidence rather than a single global pose code. For sequential multi-part queries, previously generated parts are stored in a part cache and reused as contextual constraints, reducing conflicts among independently requested components. Extensive experiments and ablations demonstrate that SAM3D-Part can significantly improve source alignment, reduce conditioning cost, and enable consistent selective part generation, achieving state-of-the-art. CoSMo3D: Open-World Promptable 3D Semantic Part Segmentation through LLM-Guided Canonical Spatial Modeling

Open-world promptable 3D semantic segmentation remains brittle as semantics are inferred in the input sensor coordinates. Yet, humans, in contrast, interpret parts via functional roles in a canonical space -- wings extend laterally, handles protrude to the side, and legs support from below. Psychophysical evidence shows that we mentally rotate objects into canonical frames to reveal these roles. To fill this gap, we propose \methodName{}, which attains canonical space perception by inducing a latent canonical reference frame learned directly from data. By construction, we create a unified canonical dataset through LLM-guided intra- and cross-category alignment, exposing canonical spatial regularities across 200 categories. By induction, we realize canonicality inside the model through a dual-branch architecture with canonical map anchoring and canonical box calibration, collapsing pose variation and symmetry into a stable canonical embedding. This shift from input pose space to canonical embedding yields far more stable and transferable part semantics. Experimental results show that \methodName{} establishes new state of the art in open-world promptable 3D segmentation.
