Abstract
Understanding and generating 3D objects as compositions of meaningful parts is fundamental to human perception and reasoning. However, most text-to-3D methods overlook the semantic and functional structure of parts. While recent part-aware approaches introduce decomposition, they remain largely geometry-focused, lacking semantic grounding and failing to model how parts align with textual descriptions or their inter-part relations. We propose DreamPartGen, a framework for semantically grounded, part-aware text-to-3D generation. DreamPartGen introduces Duplex Part Latents (DPLs) that jointly model each part's geometry and appearance, and Relational Semantic Latents (RSLs) that capture inter-part dependencies derived from language. A synchronized co-denoising process enforces mutual geometric and semantic consistency, enabling coherent, interpretable, and text-aligned 3D synthesis. Across multiple benchmarks, DreamPartGen delivers state-of-the-art performance in geometric fidelity and text-shape alignment.
Part-aware 3D generation aims to synthesize structured objects with semantically meaningful components, yet often suffers from structural ambiguity due to identity-layout entanglement. Existing methods either infer part identity and spatial layout implicitly, which can lead to unstable part allocation (e.g., slot swapping or part merging), or rely on strong layout conditions that are difficult to obtain in practice. We attribute this ambiguity to identity-slot permutation freedom: without explicit identity-slot alignment, the correspondence between semantic parts and generation slots is not identifiable during training, allowing multiple slot assignments to fit the same supervision and leading to inconsistent decomposition. Based on this insight, we argue that stable part-aware generation requires identity-aligned one-to-one slot modelling. We therefore propose an identity-slot aligned framework, ISAP-3D, which anchors each part with semantic identity tokens and performs identity-conditioned one-to-one layout prediction, followed by layout-conditioned geometry synthesis. Structured local-global conditioning maintains identity alignment across semantic, spatial, and geometric stages. We also construct a part-level dataset with a unified semantic protocol to enable learnable and consistent identity-slot alignment. Extensive experiments demonstrate improved structural stability, controllability, and robustness over state-of-the-art part-aware generation baselines.
Part-level control is essential for modern 3D asset creation, where objects are frequently edited, reused, animated, or fabricated through their individual components. In many such workflows, users need only several specific components rather than a complete object decomposition. However, existing 3D generation methods produce all parts regardless of user intent, while promptable 3D segmentation methods typically output partial surfaces instead of reusable complete meshes. In addition, image-conditioned part generators further struggle to preserve hidden geometry and accurate placement without directly conditioning on the source mesh. To address these problems, we present SAM3D-Part, a prompt-driven framework for selective part generation from input 3D object meshes. Given a source mesh and a part prompt, SAM3D-Part first encodes the source geometry into compact mesh features and aligns them with the rendered image, selective mask, and point-map observations via pixel-wise channel fusion. The fused representation conditions a feed-forward generative model to produce only the queried component as a completed mesh. To place the generated part back into the source coordinate frame, SAM3D-Part predicts dense per-voxel correspondences and estimates the part transformation from distributed spatial evidence rather than a single global pose code. For sequential multi-part queries, previously generated parts are stored in a part cache and reused as contextual constraints, reducing conflicts among independently requested components. Extensive experiments and ablations demonstrate that SAM3D-Part can significantly improve source alignment, reduce conditioning cost, and enable consistent selective part generation, achieving state-of-the-art. We present GuidedSceneGen, a text-to-3D generation framework that produces metrically accurate, globally consistent, and semantically interpretable indoor scenes. Unlike prior text-driven methods that often suffer from geometric drift or scale ambiguity, our approach maintains an absolute world coordinate frame throughout the entire generation process. Starting from a textual scene description, we predict a global 3D layout encoding both semantic and geometric structure, which serves as a guiding proxy for downstream stages. A semantics- and depth-conditioned panoramic diffusion model then synthesizes 360° imagery aligned with the global layout, substantially improving spatial coherence. To explore unobserved regions, we employ a video diffusion model guided by optimized camera trajectories that balances coverage and collision avoidance, achieving up to 10x faster sampling compared to exhaustive path exploration. The generated views are fused using 3D Gaussian Splatting, yielding a consistent and fully navigable 3D scene in absolute scale. GuidedSceneGen enables accurate transfer of object poses and semantic labels from layout to reconstruction, and supports progressive scene expansion without re-alignment. Quantitative results and a user study demonstrate greater 3D consistency and layout plausibility compared to recent panoramic text-to-3D baselines.
