Abstract

The shift toward intent-driven software engineering (often termed "Vibe Coding") exposes a critical Context-Fidelity Trade-off: vague user intents overwhelm linear reasoning chains, leading to architectural collapse in complex repo-level generation. We propose Contract-Coding, a structured symbolic paradigm that bridges unstructured intent and executable code via Autonomous Symbolic Grounding. By projecting ambiguous intents into a formal Language Contract, our framework serves as a Single Source of Truth (SSOT) that enforces topological independence, effectively isolating inter-module implementation details, decreasing topological execution depth and unlocking Architectural Parallelism. Empirically, while state-of-the-art agents suffer from different hallucinations on the Greenfield-5 benchmark, Contract-Coding achieves 47% functional success while maintaining near-perfect structural integrity. Our work marks a critical step towards repository-scale autonomous engineering: transitioning from strict "specification-following" to robust, intent-driven architecture synthesis. Repo0: Design-Driven Zero-to-All Code Generation

Large language model agents have made substantial progress in code generation, yet most existing systems assume a predefined repository architecture. This assumption does not hold in zero-to-all code generation, where an agent must construct an entire software project directly from natural-language requirements while maintaining a modular repository architecture throughout development. We present Repo0, a continuous structural evolution framework for zero-to-all code generation. Repo0 maintains an explicit architectural state instantiated as a Dual-Directed-Acyclic-Graph (Dual-DAG), consisting of a requirement-level DAG, a component-level DAG, and their alignment relation. Starting from natural-language requirements, it iteratively evolves component boundaries through structural actions guided by modularity metrics until structural convergence, after which the converged architecture guides test-driven development code generation. We evaluate Repo0 on six real-world repositories from RepoCraft using GPT-5 mini and DeepSeek V3.2. Repo0 achieves the highest Functionality Coverage and Pass Rate across all settings. Compared with RPG, the strongest repository-planning baseline, Repo0 improves Functionality Coverage by up to 20.08 percentage points and Pass Rate by up to 29.74 percentage points. Ablation and structural-evolution analyses further demonstrate the importance of the Dual-DAG architectural state, modularity-guided structural evolution, and explicit structural convergence.

CodeTeam: An LLM-Powered Multi-Agent Framework for Repository-Level Code Generation

Natural language to repository generation (NL2Repo) requires a system to construct an entire software repository from a natural-language requirements document. Compared with function-level code generation, this task demands longer planning horizons, stable interfaces across files, and iterative debugging of cross-file inconsistencies. To address these challenges, we propose CodeTeam, an LLM-based multi-agent framework that separates planning, decision making, and implementation into distinct, coordinated stages. In the planning stage, multiple Architect agents draft competing software design sketches (SDS), optionally grounded by retrieved design references. A CTO agent then evaluates, selects, and normalizes the most promising SDS into a machine-checkable contract that specifies file ownership, public interfaces, and dependency constraints. In the implementation stage, Developer agents generate code under a dependency-aware scheduler with bounded context and lightweight Git-based coordination, while a QA agent runs tests and drives iterative repairs. On the synthesis-based SketchEval benchmark, we explicitly compare CodeTeam's prompt-engineering (PE) and supervised fine-tuning (SFT) variants with the corresponding CodeS variants, where CodeTeam improves the overall SketchBLEU by 4.1 and 2.9 absolute points, respectively. On the execution-based NL2Repo-Bench benchmark, used as an external validation protocol, CodeTeam achieves the highest average test pass rate in both settings (34.6% PE, 42.3% SFT), confirming that the sketch-improvements extend to functional correctness under upstream test suites. Ablation results show that project-specific developer allocation and retrieval-augmented planning each contribute substantially to the SketchBLEU improvement (9.9% and 8.1% relative, respectively). ReproAgent: Contract-Guided Paper-to-Code Reproduction

Paper-to-code reproduction asks scientific AI agents to turn research papers into executable repositories that preserve the paper's method, protocol and artifacts. This is difficult because the specification is split: explicit paper content such as algorithms, metrics and artifacts is often lost across long agent trajectories, while implicit details such as framework defaults and conventions inherited from related work are absent from the paper. We introduce ReproAgent, a four-stage Prepare--Plan--Generate--Repair pipeline built around a persistent implementation contract with two channels: an implementation-requirement channel that turns paper snippets into code obligations, and a reference-evidence channel that retrieves content and structure evidence from related repositories. Both are bound to work packages, projected into file-level contracts, and consumed across generation and repair. On PaperBench Code-Dev, ReproAgent reaches the highest mean score among same-backbone scaffolds under both Claude-Sonnet-4.5 and Gemini-3-Flash. End-to-end channel ablations and per-paper cases support the contribution of both channels. Code and experimental artifacts are publicly available.
