View-Consistent 3D Scene Editing via Dual-Path Structural Correspondense and Semantic Continuity

Abstract

Text-driven 3D scene editing has recently attracted increasing attention. Most existing methods follow a render-edit-optimize pipeline, where multi-view images are rendered from a 3D scene, edited with 2D image editors, and then used to optimize the underlying 3D representation. However, cross-view inconsistency remains a major bottleneck. Although recent methods introduce geometric cues, cross-view interactions, or video priors to mitigate this issue, they still largely rely on inference-time synchronization and thus remain limited in robustness and generalization. In this work, we recast multi-view consistent 3D editing from a distributional perspective: 3D scene editing essentially requires a joint distribution modeling across viewpoints.Based on this insight, we propose a view-consistent 3D editing framework that explicitly introduces cross-view dependencies into the editing process. Furthermore, motivated by the observation that structural correspondence and semantic continuity rely on different cross-view cues, we introduce a dual-path consistency mechanism consisting of projection-guided structural guidance and patch-level semantic propagation for effective cross-view editing. Further, we construct a paired multi-view editing dataset that provides reliable supervision for learning cross-view consistency in edited scenes. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves superior editing performance with precise and consistent views for complex scenes.

DisCo3D: Distilling Multi-View Consistency for 3D Scene Editing

While diffusion models have demonstrated remarkable progress in 2D image generation and editing, extending these capabilities to 3D editing remains challenging, particularly in maintaining multi-view consistency. Classical approaches typically update 3D representations through iterative refinement based on a single editing view. However, these methods often suffer from slow convergence and blurry artifacts caused by cross-view inconsistencies. Recent methods improve efficiency by propagating 2D editing attention features, yet still exhibit fine-grained inconsistencies and failure modes in complex scenes due to insufficient constraints. To address this, we propose \textbf{DisCo3D}, a novel framework that distills 3D consistency priors into a 2D editor. Our method first fine-tunes a 3D generator using multi-view inputs for scene adaptation, then trains a 2D editor through consistency distillation. The edited multi-view outputs are finally optimized into 3D representations via Gaussian Splatting. Experimental results show DisCo3D achieves stable multi-view consistency and outperforms state-of-the-art methods in editing quality.

Edit in 2D, Verify in 3D: Reinforcement Learning for Multi-view Consistent Scene Editing

Leveraging the priors of 2D diffusion models for 3D editing has emerged as a promising paradigm. However, multi-view consistency remains challenging in edited results, and the extreme scarcity of paired 3D-consistent editing data makes supervised fine-tuning (SFT) impractical, despite its effectiveness for editing tasks. In this paper, we observe that, while generating multi-view consistent 3D content is highly challenging, verifying 3D consistency is tractable, naturally positioning reinforcement learning (RL) as a feasible solution. Motivated by this, we propose RL3DEdit, a single-pass framework driven by RL optimization with novel rewards derived from the 3D foundation model, VGGT. Specifically, we leverage VGGT's robust priors learned from massive real-world data, feed the edited images into it, and utilize the output confidence maps and pose estimation errors as reward signals, effectively anchoring the 2D editing priors onto a 3D-consistent manifold via RL. Extensive experiments demonstrate that RL3DEdit achieves stable multi-view consistency and outperforms state-of-the-art methods in editing quality with high efficiency. To promote the development of 3D editing, we will release the code and model.

3D-Consistent Multi-View Editing by Correspondence Guidance

Recent advancements in diffusion and flow models have greatly improved text-based image editing, yet methods that edit images independently often produce geometrically and photometrically inconsistent results across different views of the same scene. Such inconsistencies are particularly problematic for editing of 3D representations such as NeRFs or Gaussian splat models. We propose a training-free guidance framework that enforces multi-view consistency during the image editing process. The key idea is that corresponding points should look similar after editing. To achieve this, we introduce a consistency loss that guides the denoising process toward coherent edits. The framework is flexible and can be combined with widely varying image editing methods, supporting both dense and sparse multi-view editing setups. Experimental results show that our approach significantly improves 3D consistency compared to existing multi-view editing methods. We also show that this increased consistency enables high-quality Gaussian splat editing with sharp details and strong fidelity to user-specified text prompts.
