Achieving high-fidelity object-level control in Diffusion Transformers remains a significant challenge despite the introduction of structural priors like depth and Canny maps. Current object-level conditional generation methods frequently suffer from visual artifacts and struggle to maintain precise control over objects within small localized regions. To address these limitations, we propose Cascaded Object-Level Latent Refinement (COLLAR), a training-free framework that progressively optimizes object-level features via the Field-of-View (FoV) expansion. First, we propose the Cross-Scale Semantic Alignment (CSSA) module to address spatial-semantic gaps by injecting object-level features into extended-FoV branches via attention mechanisms. To further optimize these features, the Cyclic Feature Injection (CFI) module introduces a reciprocal background feedback mechanism. It leverages a frequency-based adaptive strategy to selectively update the global backbone with context-aligned local information. Finally, the extended-FoV branch serves as a hub for feature optimization, ensuring that object-level features are integrated into the global generation process without compromising final image quality. Extensive experiments on the COCO-MIG and COCO-POS benchmarks demonstrate that our approach consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods across semantic alignment, image quality, and spatial fidelity.
Unsupervised conditional image generation (UCGen) aims to control generation without relying on manually annotated labels, yet remains challenging due to unstructured semantic representations across granularities. To address this, we propose a novel coarse-to-fine UCGen framework (CoFi-UCGen) that explicitly disentangles global semantics from fine-grained variations, which to the best of our knowledge, sets out the first successful attempt for both coarse- and fine-grained conditional generation without any labels. More specifically, we first propose the adversarial semantic reciprocal learning theory to ensure the semantic consistency and completeness between images and latent spaces. Based on the consistency, we propose the bit-codes to learn a structured coarse-grained latent space, and further prove distinct global semantics inherent from our bit-codes while preserving independent noise sampling for generation. Building upon these bit-codes, we establish a fine-grained semantic basis and introduce a hierarchical modulation mechanism in diffusion models, by enabling layer-wise injection from coarse conditions to progressively control fine-grained attributes during generation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that without any label priors or pre-trained feature extractors, our CoFi-UCGen consistently outperforms existing UCGen methods in terms of image quality, semantic consistency, and control accuracy, verifying the effectiveness of explicit coarse-to-fine semantic decomposition for the challenging UCGen task.
Diffusion models have become a dominant paradigm for conditional image generation, yet existing approaches generally follow two directions: task-specific designs that can improve performance but limit generalization, and training-free loss guidance that compresses rich conditions into scalar objectives and applies stepwise guidance, leading to information bottlenecks and error accumulation along the sampling trajectory. Given the urgent need for an effective unified framework across diverse conditional image generation tasks, we propose Data Injection and Contrastive Trajectory Refinement (DICT), a training-free inference method that enhances conditional image generation without introducing task-dependent architectures. DICT introduces Data Injection, where noise-perturbed conditional signals are integrated into early denoising stages; by performing guided denoising on these injected signals, DICT adaptively selects and distills task-salient information from the raw condition, effectively preserving spatial richness and ensuring precise condition-to-generation alignment. Furthermore, DICT applies Contrastive Trajectory Refinement across adjacent denoising states, enabling pairwise comparisons that progressively improve sample quality. These designs keep inference simple while improving cross-task transfer under a unified diffusion formulation. Extensive experiments on conditional image generation tasks (e.g., style transfer, image super-resolution, and image deblurring) show consistent gains in fidelity and perceptual quality over representative task-specific and loss-guided baselines.
Deploying object-centric models for real-world scene understanding typically requires complex pipelines to achieve both robust scene decomposition and high-fidelity generation. Recent diffusion-based approaches have improved visual quality, but they almost universally rely on heavy, pretrained generative priors (e.g., Stable Diffusion) and external VAE latent spaces. In this paper, we propose Slot-RAE, a much simpler, fully integrated framework that operates directly within the continuous semantic feature space of visual foundation models (e.g., DINOv3). Slot-RAE employs a feature-space diffusion process using a Diffusion Transformer (DiT) decoder and a Representation Alignment (REPA) head. Unlike existing diffusion-based objectcentric methods that rely heavily on subsidized text-toimage priors, the generative core of Slot-RAE (Slot Attention and the DiT) is trained from scratch within the frozen VFM feature space. This eliminates the need for VAE bottlenecks and task-agnostic generative pre-training. Experiments on the COCO dataset demonstrate that despite its architectural simplicity, Slot-RAE achieves state-of-the-art results. It delivers comparable unsupervised object discovery, higher-fidelity image reconstruction, and robust zero-shot compositionality, all while being significantly faster and more computationally efficient than existing object-centric latent diffusion models.
