Abstract

6D pose estimation is a key task in computer vision and embodied AI, widely used in robotic manipulation, augmented reality, etc. Existing methods directly regress in a high-dimensional continuous space, facing two key challenges in category-level pose estimation: limited accuracy due to noise and local optima, and inefficient search over an infinite space that hinders real-time performance. This paper proposes Flow6D, a hierarchical flow matching framework with a two-stage discrete latent space localization-continuous pose regression strategy. Rotation and translation parameters are first discretized into bins, with a discrete flow matching model locking the latent space around the true pose to reduce search complexity. Then, by sampling in the latent space, a continuous flow matching model predicts local pose residuals to optimize the estimate and regress to an accurate pose. The framework also naturally extends to articulated objects, outperforming state-of-the-art methods on synthetic and real datasets with real-time inference at 70 FPS. DecomPose: Disentangling Cross-Category Optimization Contention for Category-Level 6D Object Pose Estimation

Category-level 6D object pose estimation is typically formulated as a multi-category joint learning problem with fully shared model parameters. However, pronounced geometric heterogeneity across categories entangles incompatible optimization signals in shared modules, resulting in gradient conflicts and negative transfer during training. To address this challenge, we first introduce gradient-based diagnostics to quantify module-level cross-category contention. Building on results of diagnostics, we propose DecomPose, a difficulty-aware decomposition framework that mitigates optimization contention via: (1) difficulty-aware gradient decoupling, which groups categories using a data-driven difficulty proxy and routes each instance to a group-specific correspondence branch to isolate incompatible updates; and (2) stability-driven asymmetric branching, which assigns higher-capacity branches to structurally simple categories as stable optimization anchors while constraining complex categories with lightweight branches to suppress noisy updates and alleviate negative transfer. Extensive experiments on REAL275, CAMERA25, and HouseCat6D demonstrate that DecomPose effectively reduces cross-category optimization contention and delivers superior pose estimation performance across multiple benchmarks.

UniPose9D: Universal Category-Agnostic Object Pose Estimation

Object pose estimation is a fundamental problem in 3D vision. Although recent state-of-the-art approaches achieve strong performance, they often overfit to existing benchmarks and exhibit limited generalization to novel categories and unseen scenes. We propose UniPose9D, a category-agnostic foundation model for 9D object pose estimation: given an instance mask/ROI and either an RGB-D observation or an RGB image with predicted depth, the model estimates rotation, translation, and metric size without category labels, CAD models, mean-shape priors, or reference views. Specifically, UniPose9D samples point pairs from the observed object geometry and uses DINOv2 and PointNet features to predict NOCS coordinates for each pair. To improve accuracy, we introduce a point-pair-based RANSAC N-hop Kabsch--Umeyama algorithm with an adaptive threshold. We further employ flow matching to address symmetric ambiguities and construct a large-scale training set by curating and aligning pose annotations from existing public datasets. Experiments across six datasets show that a single unified model can match or surpass specialist methods while generalizing to unseen objects and in-the-wild scenarios. G6D: Geometric Learning-Free RGB-D 6D Pose Solver for Robotic Manipulation

6D object pose estimation is fundamental to robotic manipulation and automation. Recent zero-shot methods have significantly improved generalization to unseen objects, but most still rely on large-scale pretrained models with substantial GPU computation and memory demands. These requirements complicate deployment on robotic platforms where perception, planning, and control share limited computational resources, while learned intermediate representations offer limited geometric interpretability for task-specific adaptation. To address these limitations, we propose G6D, a learning-free, geometry-driven RGB-D 6D pose solver. Given an RGB-D observation, an object instance mask, camera intrinsics, and a CAD model, G6D generates pose hypotheses through template-based geometric matching and refines them using silhouette and depth consistency, forming a purely geometry-driven pose estimation paradigm. This paradigm requires neither pretrained visual models nor target-specific training and preserves interpretable geometric representations throughout pose estimation. Moreover, adjustable hypothesis counts provide flexible accuracy-computation trade-offs, while a CPU-only configuration supports deployment without GPU resources. Experiments on LineMOD and five BOP19 datasets demonstrate advanced performance. Real-world pick-and-place experiments further demonstrate G6D's applicability to robotic manipulation.
