Abstract

Complete 3D perception from egocentric video requires recovering the surrounding scene and the wearer's full-body motion in a shared metric frame. Existing methods typically address scene reconstruction and motion estimation separately: scene reconstruction methods ignore the wearer, whereas motion estimation methods lack explicit scene geometry and often depend on external trajectories. Joint recovery is challenging because the two tasks exhibit asymmetric visibility and require different prediction paradigms. The largely visible scene supports deterministic geometric regression, whereas the severely occluded body requires generative motion inference. We therefore propose RESELF (REconstructing the Scene and the sELF), a unified framework that couples deterministic metric geometry reconstruction with geometry-conditioned motion generation. RESELF adapts a geometry foundation model pre-trained on large-scale exocentric data to egocentric video using frame-wise scale and relative-pose consistency objectives. The resulting camera trajectory and latent geometric features condition a diffusion model that recovers the wearer's motion. A subsequent closed-loop kinematic feedback stage further refines the camera head while preserving the reconstructed scene geometry. To support training and evaluation, we curate EE4D-JSM from EgoExo4D by aligning egocentric video, sparse metric scene geometry, camera trajectories, and full-body motion annotations. Experiments show that RESELF outperforms state-of-the-art methods designed for the individual tasks across depth estimation, camera tracking, and full-body motion estimation. ReViV: Reconstructing the Viewer and the View in 4D from Monocular Egocentric Video

Egocentric devices, such as wearable front-facing cameras, provide a unique perspective for capturing the continuous interaction between a human viewer and the surrounding environment. A holistic and efficient multimodal model capable of reconstructing this 4D representation is therefore highly desirable. However, existing approaches often rely on auxiliary inputs such as pre-computed camera trajectories, treat scene perception and human ego-motion modeling as separate problems despite their strong interdependency, and suffer from slow inference time. To address these limitations, we present ReViV, the first unified framework for holistic egocentric 4D reconstruction that extracts both viewer and view dynamics from a single monocular RGB video. We formulate the task as learning the full joint probability distribution over multimodal signals, including RGB video, camera trajectory, gaze direction, full-body motion, hand motion, and depth. Powered by a Masked Generative Egocentric Transformer, ReViV operates within a single feed-forward architecture to simultaneously reconstruct the temporally consistent 4D reconstruction across the viewer and the view with fast inference speed. Extensive experiments on diverse benchmarks, including HoloAssist, HOT3D, ARCTIC, Aria Digital Twin, and TACO, demonstrate that ReViV achieves state-of-the-art accuracy and efficiency across holistic ego-body, hand, and gaze reconstruction, camera tracking, while maintaining highly competitive egocentric depth estimation without relying on heavy task-specific priors. EgoForce: Robust Online Egocentric Motion Reconstruction via Diffusion Forcing

With recent advances in embodied agents and AR devices, egocentric observations are readily available as input for real-world interactive online applications. However, egocentric viewpoints can only sporadically observe hands, in addition to the estimated head trajectory. We propose EgoForce, an online framework for reconstructing long-term full-body motion from noisy egocentric input. While existing generative frameworks can robustly handle noisy and sparse measurements, they assume a fixed-length observation window is available and are thus not suitable for real-time applications. Faster inference often relies on autoregressive prediction, sacrificing robustness. In contrast, we adopt a diffusion-based method with a temporally asymmetric noise schedule inspired by Diffusion Forcing. Specifically, our approach models temporally evolving uncertainty and incrementally denoises states as new streaming observations arrive. Combined with a noise-robust imputation strategy, EgoForce progressively generates stable and coherent full-body motion under strict causal constraints. Experiments demonstrate that our online framework outperforms existing online and offline methods, enabling long-horizon, full-body motion reconstruction in challenging egocentric scenarios.

Egocentric Whole-Body Human Mesh Recovery with Prior-Guided Learning

Egocentric human mesh recovery (HMR) from monocular head-mounted cameras is increasingly important for AR/VR applications, but remains challenging due to the lack of reliable ground-truth (GT) annotations based on parametric human body models such as SMPL and SMPL-X for real egocentric images. Existing egocentric HMR methods typically rely on pseudo-GT and focus on body pose estimation, which limits their ability to recover fine-grained whole-body details such as hands and face. We study egocentric whole-body human mesh recovery and propose a prior-guided learning framework that reconstructs whole-body meshes from a single egocentric image. We construct more accurate optimization-based pseudo-GT aligned with 3D joint supervision, and leverage multiple priors by adapting an exocentric HMR foundation model together with a diffusion-based pose prior. A deterministic undistortion module is further adopted to handle fisheye distortions in egocentric images. Experiments across multiple egocentric benchmarks demonstrate improved whole-body reconstruction compared to state-of-the-art methods, and show that our optimization-based pseudo-GT is substantially more accurate than existing regression-based pseudo-GT.
