Abstract

Category-level object pose estimation (COPE), capable of generalizing to intra-class unknown objects, has become a core technique for robotic 3D scene understanding. However, existing COPE methods still require labor-intensive recollection of real-world training data for novel object categories, which limits their scalability in practical applications. This paper aims to achieve synthetic-to-real (Syn2Real) generalized COPE, where a model is trained solely on rendered synthetic data and directly generalized to real-world deployments. The central challenge lies in the significant domain gap between synthetic and real-world data, particularly in texture appearance. To address this, we aim to enhance domain generalization by learning domain-invariant representations that capture semantic commonalities among objects within the same category. We introduce 2D and 3D semantic consistency constraints to reduce the sensitivity of feature encoders to domain-specific features. In addition, we propose an end-to-end pose regression framework that performs 2D-3D cross consistency learning, leveraging dense cross-modality fusion to further refine pose estimation. Since simplicity and effectiveness are essential for real-world robotic deployment, our model operates exclusively on global features, yielding a highly lightweight and efficient architecture. Extensive experiments on the REAL275 and Wild6D benchmarks, as well as real-world robotic manipulation scenes, show superior Syn2Real generalization performance of our paradigm. Symmetry-Aware 9D Pose Estimation with Sim(3)-Consistent Feature and Spherical Inception Convolution

Object pose estimation is a fundamental problem for an agent system to perceive or manipulate objects in images or videos. However, current instance-level methods struggle with generalization to unseen objects. Category-level methods seek to address this, but remain constrained by the complexities of learning in the non-linear Sim(3) space and intra-class variations. To address these challenges, We propose an effective method for category-level object pose estimation with two key innovations: (1) A translation/size estimator, featuring a semantic-guided symmetry-aware module that leverages robust generalization capabilities of a large vision model (LVM) to infer symmetry points, resulting in accurate translation and size without shape priors. This result serves as a precomputed cue for rotation estimation, thereby reducing the difficulty of learning in the non-linear Sim(3) space and laying a robust foundation for tackling the inherently more challenging rotation estimation. (2) A feature fusion module, based on our proposed spherical large-kernel inception convolution, fuses semantic features from the LVM with systematically computed geometric features to extract essential pose features from intra-class variations by modeling long-range dependencies without excessive computational cost. Built on these innovations, we achieve SOTA on benchmarks and real-world scenes, while developing a robust robotic picking system capable of handling diverse objects. UniPose9D: Universal Category-Agnostic Object Pose Estimation

Object pose estimation is a fundamental problem in 3D vision. Although recent state-of-the-art approaches achieve strong performance, they often overfit to existing benchmarks and exhibit limited generalization to novel categories and unseen scenes. We propose UniPose9D, a category-agnostic foundation model for 9D object pose estimation: given an instance mask/ROI and either an RGB-D observation or an RGB image with predicted depth, the model estimates rotation, translation, and metric size without category labels, CAD models, mean-shape priors, or reference views. Specifically, UniPose9D samples point pairs from the observed object geometry and uses DINOv2 and PointNet features to predict NOCS coordinates for each pair. To improve accuracy, we introduce a point-pair-based RANSAC N-hop Kabsch--Umeyama algorithm with an adaptive threshold. We further employ flow matching to address symmetric ambiguities and construct a large-scale training set by curating and aligning pose annotations from existing public datasets. Experiments across six datasets show that a single unified model can match or surpass specialist methods while generalizing to unseen objects and in-the-wild scenarios. MemPose: Category-level Object Pose Estimation with Memory

In the pursuit of robust and generalizable category-level object pose estimation, most existing methods adopt parametric formulations that learn effective representations from data, yet they primarily encode category-level patterns into fixed shape priors or static parameter weights, which limits their scalability to highly diverse instances. In this paper, we rethink category-level pose estimation from a memory-centric perspective and present MemPose, a memory-augmented framework that explicitly incorporates category-level geometric memory into the pose estimation pipeline. We introduce an external memory buffer that stores and dynamically updates structural representations from previously observed instances, enabling the model to leverage accumulated experience to support current perception. Extensive experiments on four challenging benchmarks (REAL275, CAMERA25, Housecat6D and Wild6D) demonstrate the superiority of our proposed method over previous state-of-the-art approaches.
