Abstract

Three dimensional modeling for autonomous driving must continuously estimate road geometry, obstacle occupancy, traffic participant behavior, and observational uncertainty under limited computational resources. Existing reconstruction methods can synthesize realistic novel views, but visual fidelity does not sufficiently characterize the geometric reliability required for driving. Generative world models can expand scenarios and predict future observations, yet may introduce content unsupported by measurements. We propose DriveWorld3D, a framework combining temporal video learning, measurement constraints from multiple sensors, and offline generative simulation. Its online component maintains a unified world state comprising road surfaces, volumetric occupancy, dynamic entities, and road relations, while separately representing physical occupancy, observability, and evidence provenance. Action conditioned future prediction and risk sensitive planning connect this representation to driving decisions. Its offline component reconstructs recorded scenes using neural radiance fields or 3D Gaussian Splatting, then expands long tail conditions using generative models while restricting the use of generated content as geometric ground truth. We specify data partitioning, sensor ablations, fault injection, paired closed loop testing, and real to simulation consistency assessment. The central hypothesis is that explicit evidence management can reduce dangerous false free space predictions and occlusion risk within a matched computational budget while retaining acceptable driving efficiency. All performance claims remain subject to experimental validation. HelloWorld: Towards Practical Applications of Generative Driving World Models

Driving world models provide a promising route toward scalable counterfactual data generation and interactive simulation beyond recorded driving logs. Realizing this potential requires a system that can generalize across diverse scenes, respond faithfully to prescribed controls, generate coherent multi-sensor observations, and operate efficiently under repeated inference. We present HelloWorld, a 2B driving world model system designed around these requirements. HelloWorld progressively specializes broad visual and motion priors from heterogeneous video data into controllable driving generation using ego pose, HD maps, and 3D boxes. A block-causal generation interface, together with adaptation to self-generated context, aligns the model with sequential simulation. The system further supports synchronized seven-camera RGB generation and conditional LiDAR synthesis, and is distilled toward few-step inference for efficient deployment. Experiments evaluate visual quality, control fidelity, cross-view consistency, robustness under repeated generation, inference efficiency, and LiDAR synthesis. Together, HelloWorld provides a unified framework for scalable driving data generation and interactive simulation.

Xiaomi Auto World Model: A Joint World Model Integrating Reconstruction and Generation for Autonomous Driving

This report presents a unified technical system addressing the two core capabilities of world models for autonomous driving: world representation and world generation. For world representation, we propose WorldRec, a feed-forward reconstruction architecture driven by sparse scene queries. WorldRec initializes structured queries in 3D space, leveraging them to aggregate cross-view, cross-temporal features, thereby naturally enforcing spatial consistency across frames and yielding compact yet high-fidelity 3D Gaussian scene representations. For world generation, we propose WorldGen, a two-stage training framework of bidirectional pretraining followed by causal fine-tuning through three progressive stages (Teacher Forcing, ODE distillation, and DMD), enabling high-quality online causal video generation in as few as 4 denoising steps. Building on both modules, we further introduce the JWM, which deeply integrates WorldRec and WorldGen to achieve synergistic gains in generation stability, cross-frame consistency, and visual fidelity, providing a solid foundation for closed-loop simulation, data synthesis, and end-to-end training in autonomous driving.

HERMES++: Toward a Unified Driving World Model for 3D Scene Understanding and Generation

Driving world models serve as a pivotal technology for autonomous driving by simulating environmental dynamics. However, existing approaches predominantly focus on future scene generation, often overlooking comprehensive 3D scene understanding. Conversely, while Large Language Models (LLMs) demonstrate impressive reasoning capabilities, they lack the capacity to predict future geometric evolution, creating a significant disparity between semantic interpretation and physical simulation. To bridge this gap, we propose HERMES++, a unified driving world model that integrates 3D scene understanding and future geometry prediction within a single framework. Our approach addresses the distinct requirements of these tasks through synergistic designs. First, a BEV representation consolidates multi-view spatial information into a structure compatible with LLMs. Second, we introduce LLM-enhanced world queries to facilitate knowledge transfer from the understanding branch. Third, a Current-to-Future Link is designed to bridge the temporal gap, conditioning geometric evolution on semantic context. Finally, to enforce structural integrity, we employ a Joint Geometric Optimization strategy that integrates explicit geometric constraints with implicit latent regularization to align internal representations with geometry-aware priors. Extensive evaluations on multiple benchmarks validate the effectiveness of our method. HERMES++ achieves strong performance, outperforming specialist approaches in both future point cloud prediction and 3D scene understanding tasks. The model and code will be publicly released at https://github.com/H-EmbodVis/HERMESV2.
