Abstract

Infrared and visible images provide complementary cues for low-light image generation, and physics-based methods can better exploit this complementarity. However, existing physics-based methods still rely heavily on paired data. To address these limitations, we propose Multi-View Routing Mixture-of-Experts (MVR-MoE), a framework for physically consistent TeX generation that learns multi-view structural representations. MVR-MoE mines intrinsic structural cues from infrared and visible images to organize them into multi-view representations, while the proposed multi-view hyper connections expand the feature space and preserve both shared evidence and modality-specific details. A hierarchical routing mechanism further regulates feature utilization at both the structural-view level and the expert level, enabling adaptive exploitation of heterogeneous cues. The predicted temperature, emissivity, and texture maps are constrained by the Stefan-Boltzmann law to ensure physically consistent. Extensive experiments on challenging datasets demonstrate that MVR-MoE achieves superior robustness and discriminability while remaining lightweight.

MV2UV: Generating High-quality UV Texture Maps with Multiview Prompts

Generating high-quality textures for 3D assets is a challenging task. Existing multiview texture generation methods suffer from the multiview inconsistency and missing textures on unseen parts, while UV inpainting texture methods do not generalize well due to insufficient UV data and cannot well utilize 2D image diffusion priors. In this paper, we propose a new method called MV2UV that combines 2D generative priors from multiview generation and the inpainting ability of UV refinement to get high-quality texture maps. Our key idea is to adopt a UV space generative model that simultaneously inpaints unseen parts of multiview images while resolving the inconsistency of multiview images. Experiments show that our method enables a better texture generation quality than existing methods, especially in unseen occluded and multiview-inconsistent parts.

Text2Thermal: Physics-Aware Thermal Image Synthesis from Textual Priors

Thermal infrared imaging offers reliable perception in darkness and adverse weather, but thermal datasets remain scarce, motivating extensive work on translating abundant RGB images into thermal. Such translation is fundamentally ill-posed as thermal appearance is governed by surface emissivity and object temperature, neither of which is observable in the visible spectrum, so a single RGB image is consistent with many valid thermal outputs. We argue that language offers a natural means of resolving this ambiguity, and propose Text2Thermal, a framework for physics-aware thermal image synthesis from textual priors. Rather than inferring the unobservable radiometric factors from RGB, we supply them explicitly through thermally grounded captions encoding material, weather, time-of-day, and heat-emission state, and adapt a pre-trained Stable Diffusion backbone to the thermal domain. Because the radiometric content is determined entirely by the prompt, Text2Thermal synthesizes thermal imagery without requiring a registered RGB image at inference. Where spatial guidance is desired, an optional control signal imparts scene geometry without disturbing the prompt-specified radiometry. On M3FD and FLIR, Text2Thermal achieves state-of-the-art FID among thermal image synthesis methods, and we additionally report results on the FMB dataset, while offering text-level control that translation-based approaches cannot provide.

Thermo-VL: Extending Vision-Language Models to Thermal Infrared Perception

Vision-language models (VLMs) often fail under low illumination because their visual grounding is learned predominantly from RGB imagery, whereas thermal infrared preserves complementary scene structure when visible cues degrade. We present Thermo-VL, a wavelength-aware VLM that augments a frozen Molmo-7B backbone with a trainable thermal encoder and a text-guided dual-attention fusion module. Given aligned RGB tokens, thermal tokens, and prompt embeddings, the fusion module conditions thermal features on both language and RGB context, then injects a gated residual into the frozen RGB stream so thermal evidence can be incorporated without disrupting Molmo's pretrained RGB-language interface. We train the model with the standard language-modeling objective together with auxiliary alignment and regularization losses that improve cross-modal grounding and reduce over-reliance on RGB. We also introduce a pixel-aligned RGB-thermal instruction-tuning dataset and Thermo-VL-Bench, a manually screened RGB-thermal VQA benchmark for low-light and cross-spectrum reasoning. Experiments show strong gains on challenging thermal-only and RGB+thermal reasoning tasks, highlighting the value of prompt-conditioned multispectral fusion.
