Age of Information
Age of Information (AoI) quantifies the timeliness of information, focusing on minimizing the delay between data generation and reception, a crucial metric for time-sensitive applications. Current research heavily utilizes reinforcement learning (RL), particularly deep RL variants and techniques like graph neural networks (GNNs), to optimize AoI in diverse scenarios, including unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) networks and mobile edge computing (MEC) systems. These advancements are improving the efficiency and responsiveness of real-time systems across various domains, from IoT networks to collaborative robotics, by enabling more effective resource allocation and data scheduling strategies.
