Construction Waste
Construction waste management is a critical area of research focused on improving efficiency and sustainability within the construction industry, which generates a significant portion of global waste. Current research emphasizes the use of machine learning, particularly deep learning models like XGBoost and ensemble methods incorporating Bi-LSTM, TCN, STGCN, and PDFormer, to predict waste generation, optimize waste sorting and transportation, and improve the accuracy of waste characterization using data from sources such as Building Information Modeling (BIM) and GPS tracking of waste hauling trucks. These advancements offer the potential for significant reductions in environmental impact and improved resource management through more efficient waste collection, processing, and recycling strategies.
