Depth Acquisition
Depth acquisition focuses on accurately reconstructing three-dimensional scene geometry from various sensor data, aiming for high resolution and robustness. Current research emphasizes improving depth map quality through advanced upsampling techniques to handle compressed data and enhance efficiency for applications like AR/VR, as well as developing novel methods using structured light, phase information, and multi-view fusion to overcome limitations in spatial and depth resolution, particularly for challenging surfaces like reflective objects. These advancements are crucial for improving autonomous systems, 3D modeling, and computer vision applications by providing more accurate and reliable depth information.
