Hierarchical Task Network
Hierarchical Task Networks (HTNs) are a planning formalism that represents complex tasks as hierarchical decompositions of subtasks, aiming to improve efficiency and flexibility in problem-solving. Current research focuses on automating HTN method learning, improving plan quality through probabilistic and temporal extensions, and integrating HTNs with other techniques like plan recognition and natural language processing, particularly for human-robot collaboration and intelligent tutoring systems. These advancements enhance the applicability of HTNs across diverse fields, from robotics and AI to education and national economic planning, by enabling more robust and adaptable automated systems.
