Microlens arrays are key components in plenoptic cameras, enabling the capture of light field information for applications ranging from 3D imaging to tactile sensing. Current research focuses on improving image quality and resolution through advanced algorithms like compressed sensing and sub-aperture feature adaptation within single image super-resolution models, as well as developing more accurate calibration techniques that leverage blur information. These advancements address limitations in spatial resolution and computational efficiency, leading to more compact and versatile light field imaging systems with improved performance in various fields, including robotics and medical imaging.
