Robot Voice
Research on robot voice focuses on creating synthetic speech that enhances human-robot interaction, addressing both technical and social aspects. Current efforts concentrate on aligning robot voices with their visual appearance and assigned tasks, exploring how vocal characteristics (pitch, tone, fluency) influence perceived gender, age, and even "cuteness." This work leverages human-in-the-loop systems to refine voice generation and understand user preferences, aiming to improve the naturalness, appropriateness, and ultimately, the effectiveness of robot communication in diverse contexts. The resulting insights are crucial for designing more engaging and socially acceptable robots across various applications.
