Structural Connectome
The structural connectome represents the brain's anatomical network of connections, and research aims to understand how this structure relates to brain function and behavior. Current research heavily utilizes graph neural networks (GNNs), including graph convolutional networks and transformers, to analyze connectome data from various neuroimaging modalities, often integrating this with genomic data for a more comprehensive understanding of neurological disorders. This work is significant because it offers improved diagnostic capabilities for conditions like Alzheimer's disease and autism spectrum disorder, and provides insights into the fundamental organization and function of the brain.
