Verbal Communication
Verbal communication research focuses on understanding how humans and machines process and generate spoken language, encompassing both verbal content and nonverbal cues like prosody. Current research employs various machine learning models, including transformer-based language models and graph neural networks, to analyze aspects like verbal aspect, emotional expression, and the coordination of communication in multi-agent systems. These advancements have implications for improving human-computer interaction, developing more robust speech technologies, and gaining insights into the neural mechanisms underlying human communication and intelligence.
