Ultrasound Robot

Ultrasound robots aim to automate and improve the accuracy and efficiency of ultrasound examinations, addressing limitations of manual procedures. Current research heavily focuses on integrating large language models and domain-specific knowledge bases to enable robots to understand and execute complex verbal instructions for scanning, often employing optimization-based control and variable impedance strategies for safe human-robot interaction. This work is significant for improving diagnostic capabilities, potentially alleviating the burden on medical professionals and expanding access to high-quality ultrasound imaging, particularly in areas with limited expertise. The development of "the language of sonography" through AI is a key byproduct of this research.
