Vibration Sensitivity
Vibration sensitivity research explores how different systems respond to vibrations, ranging from microscopic sensors to human perception. Current investigations focus on modeling the neural responses to vibrations using computational methods like finite element analysis coupled with integrate-and-fire neuron models, and on analyzing how vibrations can be exploited for unintended purposes, such as eavesdropping via smartphone speakers. This research is significant for improving the design of sensitive devices like MEMS microphones and for understanding human-robot interaction in challenging environments, as well as for enhancing security against privacy violations.
