Single image 3D generation aims to dress a given 3D mesh with relightable materials while faithfully preserving the visual details of a reference image. Existing methods either introduce artifacts when fusing inconsistent multi-view predictions or struggle to preserve fine details through implicit image-feature conditioning. To resolve these challenges, we introduce SUPRA-Tex, built on the principle of decoupling visible-material estimation, surface alignment, and observation-guided 3D completion. This division of labor allows the 3D generator, trained on limited 3D data, to focus its capacity on preserving visible evidence and completing unobserved surfaces. Specifically, we first train an MLLM-based image editing model to predict lighting-separated PBR maps in the reference view. We then project these maps onto the visible surface and encode them with the pretrained material VAE encoder into native observation latents that share the generation target's latent space. An interleaved flow transformer holds these latents as fixed, read-only anchors while alternating unobserved-region and full-surface updates to generate complete material latents. This design achieves super-alignment with the reference, delivering What You See Is What You Get fidelity on visible regions and coherent completion on unobserved surfaces. Trained solely on public datasets, SUPRA-Tex achieves SOTA performance in both geometry-conditioned texturing and end-to-end asset generation, matching or even exceeding leading commercial systems on in-the-wild images. Channel Match: Calibrating Shape Latents for Few-Step 3D Generation
Recent native 3D generators achieve high-quality asset creation by modeling structured 3D latents with flow-based transformers, but their high-resolution generation remains computationally expensive due to costly iterative sampling. In this work, we introduce a few-step distillation framework for native 3D generation, enabled by continuous self-consistency training with a custom JVP FlashAttention kernel and an analytic velocity regression objective for sparse structured 3D latents. To stabilize joint optimization, we further introduce an adaptive loss weighting strategy that automatically balances them without manual tuning. Beyond acceleration, we reveal a previously overlooked failure mode of few-step native 3D generation: sampling-induced latent distribution drift preserves geometric correctness but disrupts downstream PBR texture synthesis, causing texture artifacts on geometrically valid assets. To address this issue, we propose Channel Match, a training-free adaptive per-channel latent calibration method that restores the latent distribution without modifying either generator. We validate our approach on TRELLIS.2 at the resolution setting. Our two-step model achieves faster geometry sampling while maintaining geometry quality comparable to the many-step teacher, and Channel Match further improves rendering quality by recovering the latent interface between geometry and appearance generation.
DynaMesh: Dynamic 3D Texture Generation
We present DynaMesh, a dynamic texture generation method for 3D meshes. Given a textureless shape and a text prompt describing an effect, our method produces an appearance that evolves while the object's geometry remains unchanged. Previous works on dynamic 3D content generation have focused on motion, where an object's geometry and position change while keeping its appearance the same. Methods on texture generation sit on the other side of the problem, painting appearance onto a shape as a fixed surface property and not as an evolving process. Neither addresses a visual effect that propagates on a 3D object. A natural route consists of two generators: a video model that shows the effect from a single view, and an image-to-3D generator that lifts each frame to 3D. However, the latter has no notion of time, so running it per video frame produces a sequence that flickers, loses effect details, and yields a different mesh at every video frame. Our method addresses these failures by conditioning a video model on a render of the mesh and the prompt to obtain a reference video, then running a frozen image-to-3D generator on the video with two changes. The conditioning of each frame is blended over a temporal window, and low-rank adapters are fit per shape to restore the lost details. The mesh is encoded once for the whole sequence, so geometry is constant by construction, and the output is a single mesh with a texture per frame. Applied to various objects and effects, DynaMesh substantially improves over recent video-to-4D and texturing methods, and can generalize its temporal effect to different shapes never seen during training. TaoTex: Boosting Texture Detail Fidelity for Native 3D Material Generation
Recent 3D generation models can produce accurate geometries while still struggling to reconstruct detailed textures. We propose a diffusion-based native 3D material generation model TaoTex, which faithfully recovers intricate textures through tailored strategies and improvements. First, we develop a data construction agent to create high-frequency textured 3D assets to bridge the data gap in public datasets. Training with these data significantly enhances the ability of TaoTex to recover challenging details such as text and patterns. Second, we design a multi-level feature fusion (MLFF) module to adaptively integrate local and global features of the conditional input, providing more complete texture cues for the diffusion model and thereby enhancing reconstruction fidelity. To alleviate VAE reconstruction errors, we adopt a latent-to-pixel space loss transition, further improving the pixel-level details and generation quality. Finally, we scale TaoTex to multi-view inputs by incorporating learnable viewpoint embeddings, achieving accurate and consistent material reconstruction across views. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method significantly outperforms existing approaches in preserving texture details in both single- and multi-view settings.
Does Native 3D Texture Generation Necessarily Require 3D Assets for Training?
Native 3D texture generation synthesizes colors directly in 3D space for a given geometry, conditioned on multi-view reference images. It is generally believed that training such models requires large-scale, high-quality real 3D asset data, whose acquisition remains a long-standing and challenging problem. In this work, we propose Tex-Zero, demonstrating that a high-fidelity native 3D texture generation framework can be trained without 3D assets. Our key observation is that only high-quality and fine-grained color information is essential for 3D texture training, while the required geometric information is less critical and can be manually constructed rather than obtained from real 3D assets. This finding makes it possible to transform abundant, high-quality 2D images into effective training samples for 3D texture generation. Specifically, we convert high-quality 2D images into 3D training samples by representing each image as a plane in 3D space and applying patch-wise random rotations and aggregation to construct complex geometric structures. Using these constructed image data, we train the Tex-Zero VAE, which can reconstruct real 3D assets with high quality despite never observing them during training. Building upon the Tex-Zero VAE, we train the Tex-Zero DiT also exclusively on the constructed image data, where the conditioning 2D multi-view images are transformed into planes in 3D space and also encoded by the Tex-Zero VAE, thereby reducing the representation gap and improving generation quality. Extensive experiments show that Tex-Zero generates high-fidelity 3D textures with fine-grained details solely using images as training data, offering a promising perspective on the data paradigm for scaling 3D texture generation.
UltraTex: Unleashing 2K Multi-View Diffusion for 3D Texturing
High-quality texture generation is essential for creating realistic and production-ready 3D assets. Recent multi-view diffusion methods have shown promising results for image-guided 3D texturing, but they are typically constrained to low operating resolutions such as 512 or 768, making it difficult to preserve high-frequency details from high-resolution reference images. Scaling this paradigm to 2048 resolution is computationally prohibitive, as the unified multi-view sequence exceeds 212K tokens and incurs excessive memory and latency. In this paper, we present UltraTex, an efficient end-to-end framework for high-resolution multi-view diffusion-based 3D texturing. Our key observation is that object-centric multi-view renderings contain two major sources of redundancy: background-induced sequence redundancy and sparse token interactions within the foreground. To address them, we introduce Background Token Dropping, which removes background tokens before the DiT backbone, and Block-Sparse Attention, which reduces attention computation over the retained foreground sequence. To enable efficient foreground-only inference while avoiding reconstruction artifacts, we further design Foreground-Aware VAE Decoding to ensure the quality of the final high-resolution views. To satisfy the demanding data requirements of 2K-resolution multi-view diffusion training, we construct G-buffer TexVerse, a large-scale, ultra-high-resolution multi-view rendering dataset covering over 268,000 3D assets. Extensive experiments show that UltraTex generates visually faithful textures with rich fine-grained details, while substantially improving efficiency, achieving -- training speedup and -- end-to-end inference speedup over the baseline on common samples in our dataset. GLOSS: Geometric Local Self-Similarity Learning for Faithful Reference-Guided Texture Fill
Using conditional image generators, texture artists can explore many single-view looks for an existing 3D shape. Despite impressive progress, state-of-the-art generative methods still struggle to generate a full object texture while closely adhering to fine scale geometric detail and single view references, leaving little room for artists guidance. Furthermore, current automatic models lack the flexibility for artist to explore multiple textures from varied sources in an interactive and controllable manner. Unlike methods trained on large 3D datasets that generate full object textures from global guidance, our work explores a local and less data-hungry approach to texture with explicit artist control. We leverage the geometric self-similarity and geometry-texture correlation existing in many natural and man-made shapes; and train a shape-specific local texture generation and completion model. This model learns from existing image model priors and a single 3D shape, and is guided by attending to a set of geometry-aware reference patches. The trained shape-specific network can transfer any novel reference to the full target object texture through patchwise inpainting. We show improved or comparable quality to strong image-conditioned texture generation baselines, suggesting local texturing as a promising research direction. Our model also enables local geometry-conditioned texture inpainting, guided by artist-selected references, and generalizes to PBR materials and unseen meshes for texture transfer. We piloted our novel texture fill capability as a Blender addon with several 3D texturing professionals who reported positive feedback on the model's controllability, practical usefulness, and creative affordances.
Ink3D: Sculpting 3D Assets with Extremely Complex Textures via Video Generative Models
Recent 3D generative models can synthesize high-quality geometry but often struggle to reproduce intricate textures from reference images, largely due to the scarcity of large-scale 3D training data with rich surface appearance. In contrast, visual generative models are trained on datasets several orders of magnitude larger and excel at modeling complex visual patterns. Motivated by this gap, we introduce Ink3D, a framework that bridges 3D generation with large-scale video generative models to synthesize extremely complex textures. Ink3D first reconstructs a white-mesh geometry using an off-the-shelf 3D generation model. It then employs OrbitPainter, a conditional video generative model, to produce dense orbit-scan videos capturing object appearance across viewpoints. To convert these views into coherent textures, we introduce TextureOptimizer, a neural baking module that integrates dense multi-view observations while mitigating geometry inconsistencies arising from video generation. By decoupling geometry and texture synthesis and leveraging large-scale pretrained video priors, Ink3D enables significantly richer and more faithful texture generation than prior approaches.
Home3D 1.0: A High-Fidelity Image-to-3D Asset Generation System for Interior Design
We present Home3D 1.0, a modular image-to-3D generation system that produces high-quality 3D assets from a single reference image, targeting interior design and e-commerce applications. Given a photograph of a furniture or decor item, the system outputs a mesh with physically-based rendering (PBR) materials, and the mesh can be decomposed into material-specific components. The pipeline is organized into four tightly coupled modules: Geometry reconstructs a watertight mesh through latent SDF modelling with a geometry VAE and a coarse-to-fine flow-matching DiT; Texture predicts multiview albedo observations, reprojects them onto the mesh, and completes unseen surface regions with a 3D texture field; Material uses MatWeaver to obtain component masks through video-based segmentation and UV-space voting, then retrieves and bakes PBR maps from a curated material library through hierarchical multi-modal matching; and Parts generates material-editable semantic part meshes with a PartVAE and PartDiT, decoding multi-head part-specific SDF fields in one pass. Each module is evaluated independently with dedicated metrics, highlighting both the current system capability and the remaining gaps toward broader deployment.
Advances in Neural 3D Mesh Texturing: A Survey
Texturing 3D meshes plays a vital role in determining the visual realism of digital objects and scenes. Although recent generative 3D approaches based on Neural Radiance Fields and Gaussian Splatting can produce textured assets directly, polygonal meshes remain the core representation across modeling, animation, visual effects, and gaming pipelines. Neural 3D mesh texturing therefore continues to be an essential and active area of research. In this survey, we present a comprehensive review of recent advances in neural 3D mesh texturing, covering methods for texture synthesis, transfer, and completion. We first summarize key foundations in mesh geometry, texture mapping, differentiable rendering, and neural generative models, and then organize the literature into a unified taxonomy spanning early GAN-based methods to modern diffusion-based pipelines. We further analyze common architectures and supervision strategies, review datasets and evaluation protocols, and discuss emerging applications, practical/commercial systems, and open challenges. Together, these insights provide a structured perspective on the current landscape and help guide future developments in learning-based 3D mesh texturing.
AssetGen: Deployable 3D Asset Generation at Interactive Speed
While 3D generation is progressing rapidly, recent work has often focused on obtaining high-resolution assets, leaving user experience and deployability as afterthoughts. We present AssetGen, a 3D generator that focuses instead on these two aspects. Given one reference image, in 30 seconds it produces a high-quality mesh with baked normals, a color texture, and a controlled polygon budget suitable for real-time rendering, including mobile use cases. The AssetGen Flash variant further reduces latency to 14 seconds for interactive and agentic creation loops. Our model generates the object geometry with a coarse-to-refine VecSet framework, which implements mesh simplification, cleaning, and normal baking on the GPU, and a fast parallel UV unwrapping. It then generates textures in a multi-view fashion, followed by backprojection and 3D inpainting. Model distillation, kernel optimization, and pipeline parallelization are co-designed to accelerate the system end-to-end. We introduce numerous automated and blind human evaluations and demonstrate competitive visual quality against leading commercial solutions in 30 seconds and preview-quality results in less than 15 seconds. The final result is a system that supports AI-assisted, deployable 3D content creation in interactive workflows.
Seed3D 2.0: Advancing High-Fidelity Simulation-Ready 3D Content Generation
We present Seed3D 2.0, an advanced 3D content generation system built on Seed3D 1.0, with substantial improvements across generation fidelity, simulation-ready capabilities, and application coverage. For geometry, a coarse-to-fine two-stage pipeline decouples global structure learning from high-frequency detail recovery, while a locality-aware VAE achieves higher spatial compression and more efficient decoding. For texture and material generation, we replace the cascaded pipeline of Seed3D 1.0 with a unified PBR model that directly generates multi-view albedo and metallic-roughness maps, enhanced by Mixture-of-Experts scaling and VLM-based semantic conditioning for improved material precision and visual fidelity. Beyond single-object generation, Seed3D 2.0 introduces a simulation-ready model suite comprising scene layout planning, part-aware decomposition, and training-free articulation generation, enabling coherent scene construction and part-level physical interaction across physics and graphics engines. A large-scale human preference study against five recent commercial models shows that Seed3D 2.0 achieves consistent win rates of 69.0% to 89.9% in textured 3D asset generation. Towards Realistic 3D Emission Materials: Dataset, Baseline, and Evaluation for Emission Texture Generation
3D texture generation is receiving increasing attention, as it enables the creation of realistic and aesthetic texture materials for untextured 3D meshes. However, existing 3D texture generation methods are limited to producing only a few types of non-emissive PBR materials (e.g., albedo, metallic maps and roughness maps), making them difficult to replicate highly popular styles, such as cyberpunk, failing to achieve effects like realistic LED emissions. To address this limitation, we propose a novel task, emission texture generation, which enables the synthesized 3D objects to faithfully reproduce the emission materials from input reference images. Our key contributions include: first, We construct the Objaverse-Emission dataset, the first dataset that contains 40k 3D assets with high-quality emission materials. Second, we propose EmissionGen, a novel baseline for the emission texture generation task. Third, we define detailed evaluation metrics for the emission texture generation task. Our results demonstrate significant potential for future industrial applications. Dataset will be available at https://github.com/yx345kw/EmissionGen.
Hitem3D 2.0: Multi-View Guided Native 3D Texture Generation
Although recent advances have improved the quality of 3D texture generation, existing methods still struggle with incomplete texture coverage, cross-view inconsistency, and misalignment between geometry and texture. To address these limitations, we propose Hitem3D 2.0, a multi-view guided native 3D texture generation framework that enhances texture quality through the integration of 2D multi-view generation priors and native 3D texture representations. Hitem3D 2.0 comprises two key components: a multi-view synthesis framework and a native 3D texture generation model. The multi-view generation is built upon a pre-trained image editing backbone and incorporates plug-and-play modules that explicitly promote geometric alignment, cross-view consistency, and illumination uniformity, thereby enabling the synthesis of high-fidelity multi-view images. Conditioned on the generated views and 3D geometry, the native 3D texture generation model projects multi-view textures onto 3D surfaces while plausibly completing textures in unseen regions. Through the integration of multi-view consistency constraints with native 3D texture modeling, Hitem3D 2.0 significantly improves texture completeness, cross-view coherence, and geometric alignment. Experimental results demonstrate that Hitem3D 2.0 outperforms existing methods in terms of texture detail, fidelity, consistency, coherence, and alignment.
TAPESTRY: From Geometry to Appearance via Consistent Turntable Videos
Automatically generating photorealistic and self-consistent appearances for untextured 3D models is a critical challenge in digital content creation. The advancement of large-scale video generation models offers a natural approach: directly synthesizing 360-degree turntable videos (TTVs), which can serve not only as high-quality dynamic previews but also as an intermediate representation to drive texture synthesis and neural rendering. However, existing general-purpose video diffusion models struggle to maintain strict geometric consistency and appearance stability across the full range of views, making their outputs ill-suited for high-quality 3D reconstruction. To this end, we introduce TAPESTRY, a framework for generating high-fidelity TTVs conditioned on explicit 3D geometry. We reframe the 3D appearance generation task as a geometry-conditioned video diffusion problem: given a 3D mesh, we first render and encode multi-modal geometric features to constrain the video generation process with pixel-level precision, thereby enabling the creation of high-quality and consistent TTVs. Building upon this, we also design a method for downstream reconstruction tasks from the TTV input, featuring a multi-stage pipeline with 3D-Aware Inpainting. By rotating the model and performing a context-aware secondary generation, this pipeline effectively completes self-occluded regions to achieve full surface coverage. The videos generated by TAPESTRY are not only high-quality dynamic previews but also serve as a reliable, 3D-aware intermediate representation that can be seamlessly back-projected into UV textures or used to supervise neural rendering methods like 3DGS. This enables the automated creation of production-ready, complete 3D assets from untextured meshes. Experimental results demonstrate that our method outperforms existing approaches in both video consistency and final reconstruction quality.
VideoMatGen: PBR Materials through Joint Generative Modeling
We present a method for generating physically-based materials for 3D shapes based on a video diffusion transformer architecture. Our method is conditioned on input geometry and a text description, and jointly models multiple material properties (base color, roughness, metallicity, height map) to form physically plausible materials. We further introduce a custom variational auto-encoder which encodes multiple material modalities into a compact latent space, which enables joint generation of multiple modalities without increasing the number of tokens. Our pipeline generates high-quality materials for 3D shapes given a text prompt, compatible with common content creation tools.
MV2UV: Generating High-quality UV Texture Maps with Multiview Prompts
Generating high-quality textures for 3D assets is a challenging task. Existing multiview texture generation methods suffer from the multiview inconsistency and missing textures on unseen parts, while UV inpainting texture methods do not generalize well due to insufficient UV data and cannot well utilize 2D image diffusion priors. In this paper, we propose a new method called MV2UV that combines 2D generative priors from multiview generation and the inpainting ability of UV refinement to get high-quality texture maps. Our key idea is to adopt a UV space generative model that simultaneously inpaints unseen parts of multiview images while resolving the inconsistency of multiview images. Experiments show that our method enables a better texture generation quality than existing methods, especially in unseen occluded and multiview-inconsistent parts.
DogWeave: High-Fidelity 3D Canine Reconstruction from a Single Image via Normal Fusion and Conditional Inpainting
Monocular 3D animal reconstruction is challenging due to complex articulation, self-occlusion, and fine-scale details such as fur. Existing methods often produce distorted geometry and inconsistent textures due to the lack of articulated 3D supervision and limited availability of back-view images in 2D datasets, which makes reconstructing unobserved regions particularly difficult. To address these limitations, we propose DogWeave, a model-based framework for reconstructing high-fidelity 3D canine models from a single RGB image. DogWeave improves geometry by refining a coarsely-initiated parametric mesh into a detailed SDF representation through multi-view normal field optimization using diffusion-enhanced normals. It then generates view-consistent textures through conditional partial inpainting guided by structure and style cues, enabling realistic reconstruction of unobserved regions. Using only about 7,000 dog images processed via our 2D pipeline for training, DogWeave produces complete, realistic 3D models and outperforms state-of-the-art single image to 3d reconstruction methods in both shape accuracy and texture realism for canines.
FlexPainter: Flexible and Multi-View Consistent Texture Generation
Texture map production is an important part of 3D modeling and determines the rendering quality. Recently, diffusion-based methods have opened a new way for texture generation. However, restricted control flexibility and limited prompt modalities may prevent creators from producing desired results. Furthermore, inconsistencies between generated multi-view images often lead to poor texture generation quality. To address these issues, we introduce FlexPainter, a novel texture generation pipeline that enables flexible multi-modal conditional guidance and achieves highly consistent texture generation. A shared conditional embedding space is constructed to perform flexible aggregation between different input modalities. Utilizing such embedding space, we present an image-based CFG method to decompose structural and style information, achieving reference image-based stylization. Leveraging the 3D knowledge within the image diffusion prior, we first generate multi-view images simultaneously using a grid representation to enhance global understanding. Meanwhile, we propose a view synchronization and adaptive weighting module during diffusion sampling to further ensure local consistency. Finally, a 3D-aware texture completion model combined with a texture enhancement model is used to generate seamless, high-resolution texture maps. Comprehensive experiments demonstrate that our framework significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods in both flexibility and generation quality.
