Overview

Image generation studies how to produce realistic, useful images from inputs such as text prompts, reference pictures, sketches, spatial layouts, or scientific measurements. Common approaches include diffusion and flow-matching models that refine images step by step, autoregressive models that generate visual tokens in sequence, and GANs used in some specialized settings. Researchers improve control and efficiency with techniques such as reference conditioning, geometric constraints, preference optimization, and iterative agent feedback, and evaluate results on benchmarks such as ImageNet, COCO, and GenEval as well as domain-specific tasks. A central challenge is balancing visual quality, prompt accuracy, identity and structural consistency, diversity, and generation cost; realistic appearance alone does not guarantee that an image is correct or safe.

BLK-Assist: A Methodological Framework for Artist-Led Co-Creation with Generative AI Models

This paper presents BLK-Assist, a modular framework for artist-specific fine-tuning of diffusion models using parameter-efficient methods. The system is implemented as a case study with a single professional artist's proprietary corpus and consists of three components: BLK-Conceptor (LoRA-adapted conceptual sketch generation), BLK-Stencil (LayerDiffuse-based transparency-preserving asset generation), and BLK-Upscale (hybrid Real-ESRGAN and texture-conditioned diffusion for high-resolution outputs). We document dataset composition, preprocessing, training configurations, and inference workflows to enable reproducibility with publicly available models to illustrate a privacy-preserving, consent-based approach to human-AI co-creation that maintains stylistic fidelity to the source corpus and can be adapted for other artists under similar constraints.

Well Log-Guided Synthesis of Subsurface Images from Sparse Petrography Data Using cGANs

Pore-scale imaging of subsurface formations is costly and limited to discrete depths, creating significant gaps in reservoir characterization. To address this, we present a conditional Generative Adversarial Network (cGAN) framework for synthesizing realistic thin section images of carbonate rock formations, conditioned on porosity values derived from well logs. The model is trained on 5,000 sub-images extracted from 15 petrography samples over a depth interval of 1992-2000m, the model generates geologically consistent images across a wide porosity range (0.004-0.745), achieving 81% accuracy within a 10% margin of target porosity values. The successful integration of well log data with the trained generator enables continuous pore-scale visualization along the wellbore, bridging gaps between discrete core sampling points and providing valuable insights for reservoir characterization and energy transition applications such as carbon capture and underground hydrogen storage.

Component-Aware Sketch-to-Image Generation Using Self-Attention Encoding and Coordinate-Preserving Fusion

Translating freehand sketches into photorealistic images remains a fundamental challenge in image synthesis, particularly due to the abstract, sparse, and stylistically diverse nature of sketches. Existing approaches, including GAN-based and diffusion-based models, often struggle to reconstruct fine-grained details, maintain spatial alignment, or adapt across different sketch domains. In this paper, we propose a component-aware, self-refining framework for sketch-to-image generation that addresses these challenges through a novel two-stage architecture. A Self-Attention-based Autoencoder Network (SA2N) first captures localised semantic and structural features from component-wise sketch regions, while a Coordinate-Preserving Gated Fusion (CGF) module integrates these into a coherent spatial layout. Finally, a Spatially Adaptive Refinement Revisor (SARR), built on a modified StyleGAN2 backbone, enhances realism and consistency through iterative refinement guided by spatial context. Extensive experiments across both facial (CelebAMask-HQ, CUFSF) and non-facial (Sketchy, ChairsV2, ShoesV2) datasets demonstrate the robustness and generalizability of our method. The proposed framework consistently outperforms state-of-the-art GAN and diffusion models, achieving significant gains in image fidelity, semantic accuracy, and perceptual quality. On CelebAMask-HQ, our model improves over prior methods by 21% (FID), 58% (IS), 41% (KID), and 20% (SSIM). These results, along with higher efficiency and visual coherence across diverse domains, position our approach as a strong candidate for applications in forensics, digital art restoration, and general sketch-based image synthesis.

VisionCreator-R1: A Reflection-Enhanced Native Visual-Generation Agentic Model

Visual content generation has advanced from single-image to multi-image workflows, yet existing agents remain largely plan-driven and lack systematic reflection mechanisms to correct mid-trajectory visual errors. To address this limitation, we propose VisionCreator-R1, a native visual generation agent with explicit reflection, together with a Reflection-Plan Co-Optimization (RPCO) training methodology. Through extensive experiments and trajectory-level analysis, we uncover reflection-plan optimization asymmetry in reinforcement learning (RL): planning can be reliably optimized via plan rewards, while reflection learning is hindered by noisy credit assignment. Guided by this insight, our RPCO first trains on the self-constructed VCR-SFT dataset with reflection-strong single-image trajectories and planning-strong multi-image trajectories, then co-optimization on VCR-RL dataset via RL. This yields our unified VisionCreator-R1 agent, which consistently outperforms Gemini2.5Pro on existing benchmarks and our VCR-bench covering single-image and multi-image tasks.

CoCo: Code as CoT for Text-to-Image Preview and Rare Concept Generation

Recent advancements in Unified Multimodal Models (UMMs) have significantly advanced text-to-image (T2I) generation, particularly through the integration of Chain-of-Thought (CoT) reasoning. However, existing CoT-based T2I methods largely rely on abstract natural-language planning, which lacks the precision required for complex spatial layouts, structured visual elements, and dense textual content. In this work, we propose CoCo (Code-as-CoT), a code-driven reasoning framework that represents the reasoning process as executable code, enabling explicit and verifiable intermediate planning for image generation. Given a text prompt, CoCo first generates executable code that specifies the structural layout of the scene. The code is then executed in a sandboxed environment to render a deterministic draft image. Subsequently, the model refines this draft through fine-grained image editing to produce the final high-fidelity result. To support this training paradigm, we construct CoCo-10K, a curated dataset containing structured draft-final image pairs designed to teach both structured draft construction and corrective visual refinement. Empirical evaluations on StructT2IBench, OneIG-Bench, and LongText-Bench show that CoCo achieves improvements of 68.83%, 54.8%, and 41.23%, respectively, over direct generation, while also outperforming other CoT-enhanced generation methods. These results demonstrate that executable code is an effective and reliable reasoning paradigm for precise, controllable, and structured text-to-image generation.

CONSTANT: Towards High-Quality One-Shot Handwriting Generation with Patch Contrastive Enhancement and Style-Aware Quantization

One-shot styled handwriting image generation, despite achieving impressive results in recent years, remains challenging due to the difficulty in capturing the intricate and diverse characteristics of human handwriting by using solely a single reference image. Existing methods still struggle to generate visually appealing and realistic handwritten images and adapt to complex, unseen writer styles, struggling to isolate invariant style features (e.g., slant, stroke width, curvature) while ignoring irrelevant noise. To tackle this problem, we introduce Patch Contrastive Enhancement and Style-Aware Quantization via Denoising Diffusion (CONSTANT), a novel one-shot handwriting generation via diffusion model. CONSTANT leverages three key innovations: 1) a Style-Aware Quantization (SAQ) module that models style as discrete visual tokens capturing distinct concepts; 2) a contrastive objective to ensure these tokens are well-separated and meaningful in the embedding style space; 3) a latent patch-based contrastive (LLatentPCE) objective help improving quality and local structures by aligning multiscale spatial patches of generated and real features in latent space. Extensive experiments and analysis on benchmark datasets from multiple languages, including English, Chinese, and our proposed ViHTGen dataset for Vietnamese, demonstrate the superiority of adapting to new reference styles and producing highly detailed images of our method over state-of-the-art approaches. PolypSteer: Counterfactual Endoscopic Synthesis via Training-Free Activation Steering

Generative diffusion models are increasingly used for medical imaging data augmentation, but text prompting cannot produce causal training data. Re-prompting rerolls the entire generation trajectory, altering anatomy, texture, and background. Inversion-based editing methods introduce reconstruction error that causes structural drift. We propose PolypSteer, a training-free activation-steering framework for endoscopic synthesis. PolypSteer identifies a pathology vector for each contrastive prompt pair in the cross-attention layers of a diffusion transformer. At inference time, it steers image activations along this vector, generating counterfactual pairs from scratch where the only difference is the steered concept. All other structure is preserved by construction. We evaluate PolypSteer across three experiments on Kvasir v3 and HyperKvasir. On counterfactual generation across three clinical concept pairs, PolypSteer achieves flip rates of 0.800, 0.925, and 0.950, outperforming the best inversion-based baseline in both concept flip rate and structural preservation. On dye disentanglement, PolypSteer achieves 75% dye removal against 20% (PnP) and 10% (h-Edit). On downstream polyp detection, augmenting with PolypSteer counterfactual pairs achieves ViT AUC of 0.9755 versus 0.9083 for quantity-matched re-prompting, confirming that counterfactual structure drives the gain. Pinterest Canvas: Large-Scale Image Generation at Pinterest

While recent image generation models demonstrate a remarkable ability to handle a wide variety of image generation tasks, this flexibility makes them hard to control via prompting or simple inference adaptation alone, rendering them unsuitable for use cases with strict product requirements. In this paper, we introduce Pinterest Canvas, our large-scale image generation system built to support image editing and enhancement use cases at Pinterest. Canvas is first trained on a diverse, multimodal dataset to produce a foundational diffusion model with broad image-editing capabilities. However, rather than relying on one generic model to handle every downstream task, we instead rapidly fine-tune variants of this base model on task-specific datasets, producing specialized models for individual use cases. We describe key components of Canvas and summarize our best practices for dataset curation, training, and inference. We also showcase task-specific variants through case studies on background enhancement and aspect-ratio outpainting, highlighting how we tackle their specific product requirements. Online A/B experiments demonstrate that our enhanced images receive a significant 18.0% and 12.5% engagement lift, respectively, and comparisons with human raters further validate that our models outperform third-party models on these tasks. Finally, we showcase other Canvas variants, including multi-image scene synthesis and image-to-video generation, demonstrating that our approach can generalize to a wide variety of potential downstream tasks.

The Art That Poses Back: Assessing AI Pastiches after Contemporary Artworks

This study explores artificial visual creativity, focusing on ChatGPT's ability to generate new images intentionally pastiching original artworks such as paintings, drawings, sculptures and installations. The process involved twelve artists from Romania, Bulgaria, France, Austria, and the United Kingdom, each invited to contribute with three of their artworks and to grade and comment on the AI-generated versions. The analysis combines human evaluation with computational methods aimed at detecting visual and stylistic similarities or divergences between the original works and their AI-produced renditions. The results point to a significant gap between color and texture-based similarity and compositional, conceptual, and perceptual one. Consequently, we advocate for the use of a "style transfer dashboard" of complementary metrics to evaluate the similarity between pastiches and originals, rather than using a single style metric. The artists' comments revealed limitations of ChatGPT's pastiches after contemporary artworks, which were perceived by the authors of the originals as lacking dimensionality, context, and intentional sense, and seeming more of a paraphrase or an approximate quotation rather than as a valuable, emotion-evoking artwork.

Implementation of Quantum Implicit Neural Representation in Deterministic and Probabilistic Autoencoders for Image Reconstruction/Generation Tasks

We propose a quantum implicit neural representation (QINR)-based autoencoder (AE) and variational autoencoder (VAE) for image reconstruction and generation tasks. Our purpose is to demonstrate that the QINR in VAEs and AEs can transform information from the latent space into highly rich, periodic, and high-frequency features. Additionally, we aim to show that the QINR-VAE can be more stable than various quantum generative adversarial network (QGAN) models in image generation because it can address the low diversity problem. Our quantum-classical hybrid models consist of a classical convolutional neural network (CNN) encoder and a quantum-based QINR decoder. We train the QINR-AE/VAE with binary cross-entropy with logits (BCEWithLogits) as the reconstruction loss. For the QINR-VAE, we additionally employ Kullback-Leibler divergence for latent regularization with beta/capacity scheduling to prevent posterior collapse. We introduce learnable angle-scaling in data reuploading to address optimization challenges. We test our models on the MNIST, E-MNIST, and Fashion MNIST datasets to reconstruct and generate images. Our results demonstrate that the QINR structure in VAE can produce a wider variety of images with a small amount of data than various generative models that have been studied. We observe that the generated/reconstructed images from the QINR-VAE/AE are clear with sharp boundaries and details. Overall, we find that the addition of QINR-based quantum layers into the AE/VAE frameworks shows improved performance of reconstruction/generation under the constrained experimental setting relative to the specific baselines.

Beyond Geometry: Artistic Disparity Synthesis for Immersive 2D-to-3D

Current 2D-to-3D conversion methods achieve geometric accuracy but are artistically deficient, failing to replicate the immersive and emotionally resonant experience of professional 3D cinema. This is because geometric reconstruction paradigms mistake deliberate artistic intent, such as strategic zero-plane shifts for pop-out effects and local depth sculpting, for data noise or ambiguity. This paper argues for a new paradigm: Artistic Disparity Synthesis, shifting the goal from physically accurate disparity estimation to artistically coherent disparity synthesis. We propose Art3D, a preliminary framework exploring this paradigm. Art3D uses a dual-path architecture to decouple global depth parameters (macro-intent) from local artistic effects (visual brushstrokes) and learns from professional 3D film data via indirect supervision. We also introduce a preliminary evaluation method to quantify cinematic alignment. Experiments show our approach demonstrates potential in replicating key local out-of-screen effects and aligning with the global depth styles of cinematic 3D content, laying the groundwork for a new class of artistically-driven conversion tools.

InnoAds-Composer: Efficient Condition Composition for E-Commerce Poster Generation

E-commerce product poster generation aims to automatically synthesize a single image that effectively conveys product information by presenting a subject, text, and a designed style. Recent diffusion models with fine-grained and efficient controllability have advanced product poster synthesis, yet they typically rely on multi-stage pipelines, and simultaneous control over subject, text, and style remains underexplored. Such naive multi-stage pipelines also show three issues: poor subject fidelity, inaccurate text, and inconsistent style. To address these issues, we propose InnoAds-Composer, a single-stage framework that enables efficient tri-conditional control tokens over subject, glyph, and style. To alleviate the quadratic overhead introduced by naive tri-conditional token concatenation, we perform importance analysis over layers and timesteps and route each condition only to the most responsive positions, thereby shortening the active token sequence. Besides, to improve the accuracy of Chinese text rendering, we design a Text Feature Enhancement Module (TFEM) that integrates features from both glyph images and glyph crops. To support training and evaluation, we also construct a high-quality e-commerce product poster dataset and benchmark, which is the first dataset that jointly contains subject, text, and style conditions. Extensive experiments demonstrate that InnoAds-Composer significantly outperforms existing product poster methods without obviously increasing inference latency.

Scalable Evaluation of the Realism of Synthetic Environmental Augmentations in Images

Evaluation of AI systems often requires synthetic test cases, particularly for rare or safety-critical conditions that are difficult to observe in operational data. Generative AI offers a promising approach for producing such data through controllable image editing, but its usefulness depends on whether the resulting images are sufficiently realistic to support meaningful evaluation. We present a scalable framework for assessing the realism of synthetic image-editing methods and apply it to the task of adding environmental conditions-fog, rain, snow, and nighttime-to car-mounted camera images. Using 40 clear-day images, we compare rule-based augmentation libraries with generative AI image-editing models. Realism is evaluated using two complementary automated metrics: a vision-language model (VLM) jury for perceptual realism assessment, and embedding-based distributional analysis to measure similarity to genuine adverse-condition imagery. Generative AI methods substantially outperform rule-based approaches, with the best generative method achieving approximately 3.6 times the acceptance rate of the best rule-based method. Performance varies across conditions: fog proves easiest to simulate, while nighttime transformations remain challenging. Notably, the VLM jury assigns imperfect acceptance even to real adverse-condition imagery, establishing practical ceilings against which synthetic methods can be judged. By this standard, leading generative methods match or exceed real-image performance for most conditions. These results suggest that modern generative image-editing models can enable scalable generation of realistic adverse-condition imagery for evaluation pipelines. Our framework therefore provides a practical approach for scalable realism evaluation, though validation against human studies remains an important direction for future work.

HiFi-Inpaint: Towards High-Fidelity Reference-Based Inpainting for Generating Detail-Preserving Human-Product Images

Human-product images, which showcase the integration of humans and products, play a vital role in advertising, e-commerce, and digital marketing. The essential challenge of generating such images lies in ensuring the high-fidelity preservation of product details. Among existing paradigms, reference-based inpainting offers a targeted solution by leveraging product reference images to guide the inpainting process. However, limitations remain in three key aspects: the lack of diverse large-scale training data, the struggle of current models to focus on product detail preservation, and the inability of coarse supervision for achieving precise guidance. To address these issues, we propose HiFi-Inpaint, a novel high-fidelity reference-based inpainting framework tailored for generating human-product images. HiFi-Inpaint introduces Shared Enhancement Attention (SEA) to refine fine-grained product features and Detail-Aware Loss (DAL) to enforce precise pixel-level supervision using high-frequency maps. Additionally, we construct a new dataset, HP-Image-40K, with samples curated from self-synthesis data and processed with automatic filtering. Experimental results show that HiFi-Inpaint achieves state-of-the-art performance, delivering detail-preserving human-product images.

Data-Efficient Brushstroke Generation with Diffusion Models for Oil Painting

Many creative multimedia systems are built upon visual primitives such as strokes or textures, which are difficult to collect at scale and fundamentally different from natural image data. This data scarcity makes it challenging for modern generative models to learn expressive and controllable primitives, limiting their use in process-aware content creation. In this work, we study the problem of learning human-like brushstroke generation from a small set of hand-drawn samples (n=470) and propose StrokeDiff, a diffusion-based framework with Smooth Regularization (SmR). SmR injects stochastic visual priors during training, providing a simple mechanism to stabilize diffusion models under sparse supervision without altering the inference process. We further show how the learned primitives can be made controllable through a Bézier-based conditioning module and integrated into a complete stroke-based painting pipeline, including prediction, generation, ordering, and compositing. This demonstrates how data-efficient primitive modeling can support expressive and structured multimedia content creation. Experiments indicate that the proposed approach produces diverse and structurally coherent brushstrokes and enables paintings with richer texture and layering, validated by both automatic metrics and human evaluation.

IdGlow: Dynamic Identity Modulation for Multi-Subject Generation

Multi-subject image generation requires seamlessly harmonizing multiple reference identities within a coherent scene. However, existing methods relying on rigid spatial masks or localized attention often struggle with the "stability-plasticity dilemma," particularly failing in tasks that require complex structural deformations, such as identity-preserving age transformation. To address this, we present IdGlow, a mask-free, progressive two-stage framework built upon Flow Matching diffusion models. In the supervised fine-tuning (SFT) stage, we introduce task-adaptive timestep scheduling aligned with diffusion generative dynamics: a linear decay schedule that progressively relaxes constraints for natural group composition, and a temporal gating mechanism that concentrates identity injection within a critical semantic window, successfully preserving adult facial semantics without overriding child-like anatomical structures. To resolve attribute leakage and semantic ambiguity without explicit layout inputs, we further integrate a badcase-driven Vision-Language Model (VLM) for precise, context-aware prompt synthesis. In the second stage, we design a Fine-Grained Group-Level Direct Preference Optimization (DPO) with a weighted margin formulation to simultaneously eliminate multi-subject artifacts, elevate texture harmony, and recalibrate identity fidelity towards real-world distributions. Extensive experiments on two challenging benchmarks -- direct multi-person fusion and age-transformed group generation -- demonstrate that IdGlow fundamentally mitigates the stability-plasticity conflict, achieving a superior Pareto balance between state-of-the-art facial fidelity and commercial-grade aesthetic quality.

Scaling Quantum Machine Learning without Tricks: Full-Resolution and Diverse Image Generation

Quantum generative modeling is a rapidly evolving discipline at the intersection of quantum computing and machine learning. Contemporary quantum machine learning is generally limited to toy examples or heavily restricted datasets with few elements. This is not only due to the current limitations of available quantum hardware but also due to the absence of inductive biases arising from application-agnostic designs. Current quantum solutions must resort to tricks to scale down high-resolution images, such as relying heavily on dimensionality reduction or utilizing multiple quantum models for low-resolution image patches. Building on recent developments in classical image loading to quantum computers, we circumvent these limitations and train quantum Wasserstein GANs on the established classical MNIST and Fashion-MNIST datasets. Using the complete datasets, our system generates full-resolution images across all ten classes and establishes a new state-of-the-art performance with a single end-to-end quantum generator without tricks. As a proof-of-principle, we also demonstrate that our approach can be extended to color images, exemplified on the Street View House Numbers dataset. We analyze how the choice of variational circuit architecture introduces inductive biases, which crucially unlock this performance. Furthermore, enhanced noise input techniques enable highly diverse image generation while maintaining quality. Finally, we show promising results even under quantum shot noise conditions.

Decomposing Private Image Generation via Coarse-to-Fine Wavelet Modeling

Generative models trained on sensitive image datasets risk memorizing and reproducing individual training examples, making strong privacy guarantees essential. While differential privacy (DP) provides a principled framework for such guarantees, standard DP finetuning (e.g., with DP-SGD) often results in severe degradation of image quality, particularly in high-frequency textures, due to the indiscriminate addition of noise across all model parameters. In this work, we propose a spectral DP framework based on the hypothesis that the most privacy-sensitive portions of an image are often low-frequency components in the wavelet space (e.g., facial features and object shapes) while high-frequency components are largely generic and public. Based on this hypothesis, we propose the following two-stage framework for DP image generation with coarse image intermediaries: (1) DP finetune an autoregressive spectral image tokenizer model on the low-resolution wavelet coefficients of the sensitive images, and (2) perform high-resolution upsampling using a publicly pretrained super-resolution model. By restricting the privacy budget to the global structures of the image in the first stage, and leveraging the post-processing property of DP for detail refinement, we achieve promising trade-offs between privacy and utility. Experiments on the MS-COCO and MM-CelebA-HQ datasets show that our method generates images with improved quality and style capture relative to other leading DP image frameworks.

Exploring the AI Obedience: Why is Generating a Pure Color Image Harder than CyberPunk?

Recent advances in generative AI have shown human-level performance in complex content creation. However, we identify a "Paradox of Simplicity": models that can render complex scenes often fail at trivial, low-entropy tasks, such as generating a uniform pure color image. We argue this is a systemic failure related to uncontrollable emergent abilities. As models scale, strong priors for aesthetics and complexity override deterministic simplicity, creating an "aesthetic bias" that hinders the model's transition from data simulation to true intellectual abstraction. To better investigate this problem, we formalize the concept of AI Obedience, a hierarchical framework that grades a model's ability to transition from probabilistic approximation to pixel-level determinism (Levels 1 to 5). We introduce Violin, the first systematic benchmark designed to evaluate Level 4 Obedience through three deterministic tasks: color purity, image masking, and geometric shape generation. Using Violin, we evaluate several state-of-the-art models and reveal that closed-source models generally outperform open-source ones in deterministic precision. Interestingly, performance on our benchmark correlates with the benchmark in natural image generation. Our work provides a foundational framework and tools for achieving better alignment between human instructions and model outputs.

CoLoGen: Progressive Learning of Concept-Localization Duality for Unified Image Generation

Unified conditional image generation remains difficult because different tasks depend on fundamentally different internal representations. Some require conceptual understanding for semantic synthesis, while others rely on localization cues for spatial precision. Forcing these heterogeneous tasks to share a single representation leads to concept-localization representational conflict. To address this issue, we propose CoLoGen, a unified diffusion framework that progressively learns and reconciles this concept-localization duality. CoLoGen uses a staged curriculum that first builds core conceptual and localization abilities, then adapts them to diverse visual conditions, and finally refines their synergy for complex instruction-driven tasks. Central to this process is the Progressive Representation Weaving (PRW) module, which dynamically routes features to specialized experts and stably integrates their outputs across stages. Experiments on editing, controllable generation, and customized generation show that CoLoGen achieves competitive or superior performance, offering a principled representational perspective for unified image generation.

DocDjinn: Controllable Synthetic Document Generation with VLMs and Handwriting Diffusion

Effective document intelligence models rely on large amounts of annotated training data. However, procuring sufficient and high-quality data poses significant challenges due to the labor-intensive and costly nature of data acquisition. Additionally, leveraging language models to annotate real documents raises concerns about data privacy. Synthetic document generation has emerged as a promising, privacy-preserving alternative. We propose DocDjinn, a novel framework for controllable synthetic document generation using Vision-Language Models (VLMs) that produces annotated documents from unlabeled seed samples. Our approach generates visually plausible and semantically consistent synthetic documents that follow the distribution of an existing source dataset through clustering-based seed selection with parametrized sampling. By enriching documents with realistic diffusion-based handwriting and contextual visual elements via semantic-visual decoupling, we generate diverse, high-quality annotated synthetic documents. We evaluate across eleven benchmarks spanning key information extraction, question answering, document classification, and document layout analysis. To our knowledge, this is the first work demonstrating that VLMs can generate faithful annotated document datasets at scale from unlabeled seeds that can effectively enrich or approximate real, manually annotated data for diverse document understanding tasks. We show that with only 100 real training samples, our framework achieves on average 87%87\% of the performance of the full real-world dataset. We publicly release our code and 140k+ synthetic document samples.

FlowFixer: Towards Detail-Preserving Subject-Driven Generation

We present FlowFixer, a refinement framework for subject-driven generation (SDG) that restores fine details lost during generation caused by changes in scale and perspective of a subject. FlowFixer proposes direct image-to-image translation from visual references, avoiding ambiguities in language prompts. To enable image-to-image training, we introduce a one-step denoising scheme to generate self-supervised training data, which automatically removes high-frequency details while preserving global structure, effectively simulating real-world SDG errors. We further propose a keypoint matching-based metric to properly assess fidelity in details beyond semantic similarities usually measured by CLIP or DINO. Experimental results demonstrate that FlowFixer outperforms state-of-the-art SDG methods in both qualitative and quantitative evaluations, setting a new benchmark for high-fidelity subject-driven generation.

Momentum Guidance: Plug-and-Play Guidance for Flow Models

Flow-based generative methods offer a simple and effective framework for high-fidelity generation, yet pretrained flow models are rarely used in their vanilla conditional form: in image generation, samples without guidance often appear diffuse and lack fine-grained detail. Existing guidance techniques such as classifier-free guidance (CFG) improve fidelity but reduce sample diversity. We introduce Momentum Guidance (MG), a guidance method that improves sample quality by extrapolating the current velocity away from an exponential moving average of past velocities along the ODE trajectory, while preserving the standard one-evaluation-per-step cost. MG provides gains beyond CFG, improving the precision-recall Pareto frontier. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of MG across benchmarks. On ImageNet-256, MG improves FID by 36.54% without CFG and 25.42% with CFG on average across sampling settings, attaining an FID of 1.553 at 16 sampling steps. Evaluations on large flow-based models, including Stable Diffusion 3 and FLUX.1-dev, further confirm improvements across standard metrics.

RL-RIG: A Generative Spatial Reasoner via Intrinsic Reflection

Recent advancements in image generation have achieved impressive results in producing high-quality images. However, existing image generation models still generally struggle with a spatial reasoning dilemma, lacking the ability to accurately capture fine-grained spatial relationships from the prompt and correctly generate scenes with structural integrity. To mitigate this dilemma, we propose RL-RIG, a Reinforcement Learning framework for Reflection-based Image Generation. Our architecture comprises four primary components: Diffuser, Checker, Actor, and Inverse Diffuser, following a Generate-Reflect-Edit paradigm to spark the Chain of Thought reasoning ability in image generation for addressing the dilemma. To equip the model with better intuition over generation trajectories, we further develop Reflection-GRPO to train the VLM Actor for edit prompts and the Image Editor for better image quality under a given prompt, respectively. Unlike traditional approaches that solely produce visually stunning yet structurally unreasonable content, our evaluation metrics prioritize spatial accuracy, utilizing Scene Graph IoU and employing a VLM-as-a-Judge strategy to assess the spatial consistency of generated images on LAION-SG dataset. Experimental results show that RL-RIG outperforms existing state-of-the-art open-source models by up to 11% in terms of controllable and precise spatial reasoning in image generation.

MICON-Bench: Benchmarking and Enhancing Multi-Image Context Image Generation in Unified Multimodal Models

Recent advancements in Unified Multimodal Models (UMMs) have enabled remarkable image understanding and generation capabilities. However, while models like Gemini-2.5-Flash-Image show emerging abilities to reason over multiple related images, existing benchmarks rarely address the challenges of multi-image context generation, focusing mainly on text-to-image or single-image editing tasks. In this work, we introduce MICON-Bench, a comprehensive benchmark covering six tasks that evaluate cross-image composition, contextual reasoning, and identity preservation. We further propose an MLLM-driven Evaluation-by-Checkpoint framework for automatic verification of semantic and visual consistency, where multimodal large language model (MLLM) serves as a verifier. Additionally, we present Dynamic Attention Rebalancing (DAR), a training-free, plug-and-play mechanism that dynamically adjusts attention during inference to enhance coherence and reduce hallucinations. Extensive experiments on various state-of-the-art open-source models demonstrate both the rigor of MICON-Bench in exposing multi-image reasoning challenges and the efficacy of DAR in improving generation quality and cross-image coherence. CRAFT-LoRA: Content-Style Personalization via Rank-Constrained Adaptation and Training-Free Fusion

Personalized image generation requires effectively balancing content fidelity with stylistic consistency when synthesizing images based on text and reference examples. Low-Rank Adaptation (LoRA) offers an efficient personalization approach, with potential for precise control through combining LoRA weights on different concepts. However, existing combination techniques face persistent challenges: entanglement between content and style representations, insufficient guidance for controlling elements' influence, and unstable weight fusion that often require additional training. We address these limitations through CRAFT-LoRA, with complementary components: (1) rank-constrained backbone fine-tuning that injects low-rank projection residuals to encourage learning decoupled content and style subspaces; (2) a prompt-guided approach featuring an expert encoder with specialized branches that enables semantic extension and precise control through selective adapter aggregation; and (3) a training-free, timestep-dependent classifier-free guidance scheme that enhances generation stability by strategically adjusting noise predictions across diffusion steps. Our method significantly improves content-style disentanglement, enables flexible semantic control over LoRA module combinations, and achieves high-fidelity generation without additional retraining overhead.

IDperturb: Enhancing Variation in Synthetic Face Generation via Angular Perturbation

Synthetic data has emerged as a practical alternative to authentic face datasets for training face recognition (FR) systems, especially as privacy and legal concerns increasingly restrict the use of real biometric data. Recent advances in identity-conditional diffusion models have enabled the generation of photorealistic and identity-consistent face images. However, many of these models suffer from limited intra-class variation, an essential property for training robust and generalizable FR models. In this work, we propose IDPERTURB, a simple yet effective geometric-driven sampling strategy to enhance diversity in synthetic face generation. IDPERTURB perturbs identity embeddings within a constrained angular region of the unit hyper-sphere, producing a diverse set of embeddings without modifying the underlying generative model. Each perturbed embedding serves as a conditioning vector for a pre-trained diffusion model, enabling the synthesis of visually varied yet identity-coherent face images suitable for training generalizable FR systems. Empirical results demonstrate that training FR on datasets generated using IDPERTURB yields improved performance across multiple FR benchmarks, compared to existing synthetic data generation approaches.

MaskDiME: Adaptive Masked Diffusion for Precise and Efficient Visual Counterfactual Explanations

Visual counterfactual explanations aim to reveal the minimal semantic modifications that can alter a model's prediction, providing causal and interpretable insights into deep neural networks. However, existing diffusion-based counterfactual generation methods are often computationally expensive, slow to sample, and imprecise in localizing the modified regions. To address these limitations, we propose MaskDiME, a simple, fast, yet effective diffusion framework that unifies semantic consistency and spatial precision through localized sampling. Our approach adaptively focuses on decision-relevant regions to achieve localized and semantically consistent counterfactual generation while preserving high image fidelity. Our training-free framework, MaskDiME, performs inference over 30x faster than the baseline and achieves comparable or state-of-the-art performance across five benchmark datasets spanning diverse visual domains, establishing a practical and generalizable solution for efficient counterfactual explanation.
