Abstract

3D editing has emerged as a critical research area to provide users with flexible control over 3D assets. While current editing approaches predominantly focus on 3D Gaussian Splatting or multi-view images, the direct editing of 3D meshes remains underexplored. Prior attempts, such as VoxHammer, rely on voxel-based representations that suffer from limited resolution and necessitate labor-intensive 3D mask. To address these limitations, we propose \textbf{VecSet-Edit}, the first pipeline that leverages the high-fidelity VecSet Large Reconstruction Model (LRM) as a backbone for mesh editing. Our approach is grounded on a analysis of the spatial properties in VecSet tokens, revealing that token subsets govern distinct geometric regions. Based on this insight, we introduce Mask-guided Token Seeding and Attention-aligned Token Gating strategies to precisely localize target regions using only 2D image conditions. Also, considering the difference between VecSet diffusion process versus voxel we design a Drift-aware Token Pruning to reject geometric outliers during the denoising process. Finally, our Detail-preserving Texture Baking module ensures that we not only preserve the geometric details of original mesh but also the textural information. EditVerse3D: High-Quality 3D Object Editing with Region-Aware Learning

Local editing of 3D objects remains a long-standing challenge. When interacting with 3D content, humans naturally tend to specify a coarse region of interest for modification rather than defining precise editing boundaries. However, previous methods rely on fully edited 2D images, precise 3D masks, or redundant pipelines, which present a gap. To bridge this gap, we propose EditVerse3D, a novel 3D editing framework that enables high-quality object editing under such coarse guidance. Our approach takes as input a 3D object to be edited, a coarse 3D bounding box indicating the target region, and a reference 2D image describing the desired modification. It produces a coherent, high-fidelity edited 3D object. To facilitate this editing, we introduce a novel region-aware adaptive loss that emphasizes hard-to-learn regions and balances the objective between target and preserved areas. Complementing our loss function, we enhance model robustness and generalization through targeted data augmentations, such as training with scaled 3D masks and filtering out unrealistic editing pairs. We construct a large-scale 3D editing dataset derived from parts information. Extensive experiments demonstrate that EditVerse3D achieves superior visual quality and quantitative performance compared to existing 3D editing approaches. EditFlow3D: Automated Local Editing of 3D Assets with Trajectory Preservation

Controllable local editing of 3D assets requires precise target localization and appropriate visual guidance. However, existing methods lack a simple yet accurate way to obtain 3D masks and struggle to achieve the desired edit while faithfully preserving the structure and appearance of non-target regions. To address these challenges, we present EditFlow3D, a training-free framework for local 3D editing. Given a source asset and an edit instruction, a VLM-driven workflow interprets the editing intent and automatically constructs a visual guidance image and a refined 3D editing mask, enabling localized editing in the native representation space of a pretrained 3D generative model. Specifically, mask-guided differential flow focuses the edit on the target region, while step-wise trajectory preservation maintains consistency between non-target regions and the source asset without directly replacing intermediate features. Since the existing Edit3D-Bench covers only a limited range of local editing categories, we further introduce EditFlow-Bench as a complementary benchmark encompassing a broader variety of structural and appearance edits, and evaluate EditFlow3D on both benchmarks. Quantitative results, qualitative comparisons, and a user study demonstrate that EditFlow3D achieves more accurate target-region editing and better preserves non-target regions than existing 3D editing methods.

DreamEdit3D: Personalization of Multi-View Diffusion Models for 3D Editing

While 2D diffusion models have achieved remarkable success in identity-preserving personalization, extending this capability to 3D assets remains a significant challenge due to the complexities of multi-view consistency and spatial control. Inspired by these 2D advancements, we present a novel personalization method for text-guided 3D editing that enables compositional, object-level control through natural language. Given a 3D input, we render orthogonal views and extract object-level segmentation masks to isolate semantic components. We then learn distinct token embeddings for each component through a tailored two-phase optimization strategy: multi-view textual inversion with attention alignment, followed by full fine-tuning of multi-view diffusion model. During inference, these disentangled tokens seamlessly compose with editing prompts to generate multi-view consistent images, which are subsequently lifted into high-fidelity textured 3D meshes. Extensive evaluations across diverse editing scenarios demonstrate that our method successfully transfers the flexibility of 2D personalization to 3D, achieving state-of-the-art edit faithfulness and identity preservation compared to existing baselines.
