Abstract

Cross-view geo-spatial learning consists of two important tasks: Cross-View Geo-Localization (CVGL) and Cross-View Image Synthesis (CVIS), both of which rely on establishing geometric correspondences between ground and aerial views. Recent Geometric Foundation Models (GFMs) have demonstrated strong capabilities in extracting generalizable 3D geometric features from images, but their potential in cross-view geo-spatial tasks remains underexplored. In this work, we present Geo^2, a unified framework that leverages Geometric priors from GFMs (e.g., VGGT) to jointly perform geo-spatial tasks, CVGL and bidirectional CVIS. Despite the 3D reconstruction ability of GFMs, directly applying them to CVGL and CVIS remains challenging due to the large viewpoint gap between ground and aerial imagery. We propose GeoMap, which embeds ground and aerial features into a shared 3D-aware latent space, effectively reducing cross-view discrepancies for localization. This shared latent space naturally bridges cross-view image synthesis in both directions. To exploit this, we propose GeoFlow, a flow-matching model conditioned on geometry-aware latent embeddings. We further introduce a consistency loss to enforce latent alignment between the two synthesis directions, ensuring bidirectional coherence. Extensive experiments on standard benchmarks, including CVUSA, CVACT, and VIGOR, demonstrate that Geo^2 achieves state-of-the-art performance in both localization and synthesis, highlighting the effectiveness of 3D geometric priors for cross-view geo-spatial learning.

S3^3Geo: Structure-Semantic Synergistic Learning for Cross-View Geo-Localization

Cross-view geo-localization (CVGL) aims to estimate geographic locations by matching images captured from different viewpoints, such as drone and satellite views. Existing methods mainly rely on visual representations, but often fail to jointly model fine-grained structural correspondences and semantic priors, making them prone to confusion between visually similar but semantically different regions, and thus limiting robustness under large viewpoint variations. To address these challenges, we propose \textbf{S3^3Geo}, a structure-semantic synergistic learning framework for cross-view matching. Specifically, we first introduce a Decoupled Query Pooling (DQP) module to extract a compact set of region-aware features from dense tokens, enabling explicit modeling of local structural patterns. We then design a query-level contrastive learning scheme with an optimal transport (OT)-based formulation to establish soft correspondences under cross-view spatial misalignment. Furthermore, we incorporate a Semantic Knowledge Distillation (SKD) strategy from a frozen CLIP teacher to transfer semantic priors and relational structures, thereby improving discrimination on hard negatives. By operating synergistically, the semantic priors provide robust contextual filtering, which guides the structural module to establish precise spatial alignments. Experiments on the University-1652 and SUES-200 datasets demonstrate that \textbf{S3^3Geo} consistently outperforms state-of-the-art approaches without increasing inference complexity, validating the effectiveness of jointly modeling structural and semantic information for CVGL.

Beyond 2D Matching: A Unified Single-Stage Framework for Geometry-Aware Cross-View Object Geo-Localization

Cross-view object geo-localization (CVOGL) aims to locate a target object from a query view (e.g., ground or drone) within a geo-tagged reference image (e.g., satellite). Existing approaches heavily rely on 2D appearance matching and are constrained by limited datasets lacking geometric metadata, diverse prompts, and standard field-of-view imagery. To address these intertwined challenges, we first introduce \dataset, a large-scale, high-fidelity building dataset comprising over 220,000 ground-satellite and drone-satellite pairs. It provides multi-modal prompts (points, boxes, masks) and camera poses to enable flexible target referring and explicit spatial modeling. Furthermore, we propose a novel single-stage Geometry-Aware Geo-localization framework (GAGeo), built upon the permutation-equivariant 3D foundation model π3π^3. By seamlessly integrating visual features, referring prompts, and learnable task tokens, our model adapts the inherited 3D prior to jointly predict bounding boxes, segmentation masks, and camera poses in a single forward pass. Additionally, we introduce a contrastive loss that utilizes the satellite view as a universal anchor, implicitly aligning ground and drone representations to enable zero-shot ground-to-drone localization without requiring triplet training data. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our approach significantly outperforms state-of-the-art methods, exhibiting exceptional generalization ability in unseen scenes and novel cross-view setups.

GeoLink: A 3D-aware Framework to Improve Generalization for Cross-view Geo-localization

Generalizable cross-view geo-localization aims to match the same location across views in unseen regions and conditions without GPS supervision. Its core difficulty lies in severe semantic inconsistency caused by viewpoint variation and poor generalization under domain shift. Existing methods mainly rely on 2D correspondence, but they are easily distracted by redundant shared information across views, leading to less transferable representations. To address this, we propose GeoLink, a 3D-aware semantic-consistent framework for Generalizable cross-view geo-localization. Specifically, we offline reconstruct scene point clouds from multi-view drone images using VGGT, providing stable structural priors. Based on these 3D anchors, we improve 2D representation learning in two complementary ways. A Geometric-aware Semantic Refinement module mitigates potentially redundant and view-biased dependencies in 2D features under 3D guidance. In addition, a Unified View Relation Distillation module transfers 3D structural relations to 2D features, improving cross-view alignment while preserving a 2D-only inference pipeline. Extensive experiments on multiple benchmarks show that GeoLink consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods and achieves superior generalization across unseen domains and diverse weather environments.
