Abstract

Yoga is widely recognized for improving physical fitness, flexibility, and mental well being. However, these benefits depend strongly on correct posture execution. Improper alignment during yoga practice can reduce effectiveness and increase the risk of musculoskeletal injuries, especially in self guided or online training environments. This paper presents a hybrid Edge AI based framework for real time yoga pose detection and posture correction. The proposed system integrates lightweight human pose estimation models with biomechanical feature extraction and a CNN LSTM based temporal learning architecture to recognize yoga poses and analyze motion dynamics. Joint angles and skeletal features are computed from detected keypoints and compared with reference pose configurations to evaluate posture correctness. A quantitative scoring mechanism is introduced to measure alignment deviations and generate real time corrective feedback through visual, text based, and voice based guidance. In addition, Edge AI optimization techniques such as model quantization and pruning are applied to enable low latency performance on resource constrained devices. The proposed framework provides an intelligent and scalable digital yoga assistant that can improve user safety and training effectiveness in modern fitness applications.

Integrated Real-Time Motion Tracking and AI Analysis for Athletic Performance Optimization

Applying Human Pose Estimation (HPE) in real world environments remains a challenging task, this paper explores and surveys real time HPE approaches and their limitations in sports analysis for individuals, alongside developing a practical lightweight prototype for real world testing and usage. The older marker-based motion capture systems evolving to the modern accessible and adaptable markerless deep learning approaches, this survey explores the foundational architectures, which balance precision and efficiency. We also compare algorithmic frameworks (top-down, bottom-up, one-stage approaches, etc.) on practical deployment metrics such as inference latency, frame rate, mean per-joint position error, and temporal jitter to guide model selection process for sports application. As our prime contribution, we are proposing a modular, lightweight software prototype, which uses MediaPipe HPE framework with multiple exercise specific logic to deliver real-time insights and AI based feedback for non-expert users. We derive sports insights and providing feedback with minimal computational resources, while showcasing the performance and reliability metrics. In the end, we suggest other future research directions like combining sensors, and AR/VR. This work caters to researchers, engineers, sport scientists, etc., as both technical resource and a valid blueprint to implement a similar or improved real-time HPE analysis system for athletic performance enhancement or other purposes.

Agile-VLA: Few-Shot Industrial Pose Rectification via Implicit Affordance Anchoring

Deploying Vision-Language-Action (VLA) models on resource-constrained edge platforms encounters a fundamental conflict between high-latency semantic inference and the high-frequency control required for dynamic manipulation. To address the challenge, this paper presents Agile-VLA, a hierarchical framework designed for industrial pose reorientation tasks on edge devices such as the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano. The core innovation is an Implicit Affordance Anchoring mechanism that directly maps geometric visual cues, specifically centroid and rim keypoint anchors, into structured parametric action primitives, thereby substantially reducing reliance on high-latency semantic inference during closed-loop control. By decoupling perception (10 Hz) from control (50 Hz) via an asynchronous dual-stream architecture, the system effectively mitigates the frequency mismatch inherent in edge-based robot learning. Experimental results on a standard 6-DoF manipulator demonstrate that Agile-VLA achieves robust rectification of complex, irregular workpieces using only 5-shot demonstrations through extrinsic dexterity.

TinyDETR-Pose: Towards End-to-End Real-Time Single-Stage 6DoF Object Pose Estimation with Lightweight Transformers

Real-time 6DoF object pose estimation on resource-constrained hardware remains challenging, as accurate correspondence-based and refinement pipelines typically rely on non-differentiable PnP/RANSAC stages or costly iterative refinement, while recent foundation-model-based approaches incur inference costs that are prohibitive for edge deployment. We present TinyDETR-Pose, a lightweight, end-to-end, single-stage framework that jointly detects objects and regresses their full 6D pose in a single forward pass. Built on the efficient LW-DETR architecture, TinyDETR-Pose formulates detection and pose estimation as a set-prediction problem and attaches dedicated MLP heads for rotation, monocular depth, and projected object center regression to each decoder query, eliminating the need for PnP, NMS (non-maximum suppression), or iterative pose refinement. Object symmetries are handled through a ADD-S loss applied uniformly to all objects, without the need for object-specific loss schedules or separate geodesic/ADD supervision. In addition, predictions are assigned to ground truth using a symmetry-safe Hungarian matcher based on class and 2D spatial cues, yielding stable assignment under symmetry and depth ambiguity. On YCB-V, TinyDETR-Pose achieves a comparable ADD-S AUC of 85.9, while requiring up to 72.7% fewer parameters than other DETR-based single-stage pose-estimation approaches. Due to its compact design, TinyDETR-Pose runs in real time and achieves an inference latency of only ~4.5 ms per frame on an NVIDIA Jetson Nano using TensorRT, demonstrating that accurate end-to-end transformer-based 6D pose estimation can be made practical for edge deployment.
