Abstract

3D reconstruction methods such as 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) and Neural Radiance Fields (NeRF) achieve impressive photorealism but fail when input images suffer from severe motion blur. While event cameras provide high-temporal-resolution motion cues, existing event-assisted approaches rely on low-resolution sensors and strict synchronization, limiting their practicality for handheld 3D capture on common devices, such as smartphones. We introduce a flexible, high-resolution asynchronous RGB-Event dual-camera system and a corresponding reconstruction framework. Our approach first reconstructs sharp images from the event data and then employs a cross-domain pose estimation module based on the Visual Geometry Transformer (VGGT) to obtain robust initialization for 3DGS. During optimization, we employ a structure-driven event loss and view-specific consistency regularizers to mitigate the ill-posed behavior of traditional event losses and deblurring losses, ensuring both stable and high-fidelity reconstruction. We further contribute AsyncEv-Deblur, a new high-resolution RGB-Event dataset captured with our asynchronous system. Experiments demonstrate that our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on both our challenging dataset and existing benchmarks, substantially improving reconstruction robustness under severe motion blur. EvFlow-GS: Event Enhanced Motion Deblurring with Optical Flow for 3D Gaussian Splatting

Achieving sharp 3D reconstruction from motion-blurred images alone becomes challenging, motivating recent methods to incorporate event cameras, benefiting from microsecond temporal resolution. However, they suffer from residual artifacts and blurry texture details due to misleading supervision from inaccurate event double integral priors and noisy, blurry events. In this study, we propose EvFlow-GS, a unified framework that leverages event streams and optical flow to optimize an end-to-end learnable double integral (LDI), camera poses, and 3D Gaussian Splatting (3DGS) jointly on-the-fly. Specifically, we first extract edge information from the events using optical flow and then formulate a novel event-based loss applied separately to different modules. Additionally, we exploit a novel event-residual prior to strengthen the supervision of intensity changes between images rendered from 3DGS. Finally, we integrate the outputs of both 3DGS and LDI into a joint loss, enabling their optimization to mutually facilitate each other. Experiments demonstrate the leading performance of our EvFlow-GS.

ERF-GS: Reconstructing Fast Motion from Disjoint Event-RGB Viewpoints

Deep learning-driven representations such as neural radiance fields (NeRFs) and 3D Gaussian splatting (3DGS) have revolutionized the field of dynamic 3D scene reconstruction with improved visual precision and scalability. However, the reconstruction of fast-moving objects remains a challenge; existing methods based on conventional frame-based videos often struggle in scenarios such as sports events and animal videography. We propose an event-RGB fusion Gaussian splatting (ERF-GS) framework that integrates event information into both optimization and densification stages of the Gaussian splatting pipeline, taking advantage of novel event sensors with high frame-rate. Unlike many other event-assisted scene reconstruction methods, ERF-GS was developed using realistic simulation settings and realizes event-based learning detached from RGB inputs. This design enables its application beyond straightforward synthetic data into the realm of natural video with complex layout, low frame rates and severe motion blur. Our experiments show that ERF-GS outperforms both the 4DGS baseline and the concurrent E-D3DGS on different variants of the Neu3D and Nvidia datasets which include blurry RGB frames and disjoint RGB-event viewpoints. PRISM3D: Probabilistic Refinement and Robust Initialization for Physically Consistent Scene Modeling under Extreme Motion Blur

We address the inverse problem of blind 3D scene reconstruction from extremely motion-blurred images, a scenario where traditional Structure-from-Motion (SfM) pipelines fail. Existing approaches typically circumvent this bottleneck by relying on impractical sharp-image supervision. In this work, we introduce PRISM3D, a unified framework enabling robust reconstruction directly from severely degraded inputs. To overcome the lack of a reliable starting point, we propose a Robust Initialization strategy utilizing deep dense tracking method (VGGSfM) to recover global topology where feature matching fails. To the best of our knowledge, we are the first to effectively leverage this paradigm to bootstrap 3D Gaussian Splatting from extreme motion blur. However, while robust, this initialization yields sparse and noisy geometry that causes deterministic optimization to diverge. To resolve this, we propose a coupled solution driven by probability and physics: we adopt a probabilistic formulation for geometric densification via Markov Chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) to robustly populate the sparse priors, while simultaneously modeling physical image formation via continuous Bezier Trajectories. Furthermore, while PRISM3D establishes a highly robust standalone pipeline, the availability of complementary event streams offers an opportunity to push the reconstruction fidelity further. To exploit this, we introduce PRISM3D-E, a multi-modal (RGB + Events) extension that seamlessly integrates high-temporal-resolution events as structural priors to maximize geometric recovery. Because existing datasets lack paired event streams under such severe degradation, we concurrently contribute the PRISM3D-E Benchmark to facilitate rigorous evaluation. Extensive experiments demonstrate that both our standalone RGB framework and its multi-modal extension establish new state-of-the-art performance.
