Abstract

This paper addresses the problem of reconstructing missing or dropped frames in top-down drone video of autonomous surface vehicles performing structured maritime manoeuvres. We propose a pipeline that converts raw GPS telemetry and a single reference frame into a trajectory-guided video sequence using a pre-trained image-to-video diffusion model, requiring no domain-specific fine-tuning. GPS coordinates from onboard telemetry logs are projected into image space via an equirectangular mapping, producing per-vessel motion cues that condition the SG-I2V diffusion model. The generated frames are evaluated against ground-truth video using perceptual, temporal and trajectory-based metrics, and benchmarked against optical flow extrapolation and RIFE interpolation baselines. SG-I2V produces the most naturally appearing frames among all methods (BRISQUE 25.52, closest to ground-truth 23.64), the most realistic motion magnitude (temporal smoothness 1.14 vs. ground truth 1.42), and the strongest GPS trajectory adherence (9.31px vs. 28.70px for ground-truth, the latter reflecting approximate temporal alignment between footage and GPS logs rather than generation error), demonstrating that trajectory-guided diffusion synthesis is a viable approach to maritime video reconstruction under challenging low-texture, small-object conditions.

DTG-Restore: Training-Free Diffusion Refinement for Generative Video Super-Resolution

Recent progress in video diffusion models has enabled remarkable generative fidelity, yet leveraging these priors for restoration remains limited by the strong coupling between conditional and unconditional branches in standard classifier-free guidance. We introduce a training-free framework that enhances distorted and low-resolution videos by decoupling these signals in time. Our proposed Decoupled Time Guidance (DTG) evaluates the unconditional branch at a cleaner diffusion timestep, providing a lookahead prior that preserves geometry while suppressing replication of warped content. This temporal bias is annealed throughout sampling, allowing the model to transition from structure correction to detail refinement without retraining. Combined with any off-the-shelf restoration module in a plug-and-play manner, our approach improves perceptual coherence and restores plausible structure in AIgenerated and real-world videos alike. To facilitate evaluation, we curate GenWarp480, a benchmark of 4,400 distorted 480p videos synthesized from diverse text-to-video models. GenWarp480 focuses on characteristic generative degradations such as warped faces, body misalignments, and spatial artifacts, providing a purpose-built testbed for assessing robustness to generative errors. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our method achieves significant improvements in structural fidelity and temporal stability without any model training.

SNM-VFI: Symmetric Nonlinear Motion-Guided Generative Video Frame Interpolation

We propose Symmetric Nonlinear Motion-guided Generative Video Frame Interpolation (SNM-VFI), a training-free framework for motion-controllable generative video frame interpolation with pre-trained optical flow and video diffusion models. Unlike conventional diffusion-based VFI methods that synthesize intermediate frames from random noise, SNM-VFI guides the generative process with correspondence-aware frames produced by a symmetric nonlinear motion model. Specifically, we first utilize a pre-trained optical flow model to construct multi-frame nonlinear flow-based intermediate frames and confidence maps. These flow-guided frames are then encoded as latent priors to initialize and iteratively guide a pre-trained Video Diffusion model, enabling the diffusion model to preserve dense motion correspondence while improving perceptual realism. To further enhance output quality, we employ confidence maps to fuse structurally reliable flow-based predictions with diffusion-generated details in uncertain regions such as occlusions and object boundaries. Extensive evaluations on challenging benchmarks, including DAVIS, Sintel, and KITTI, demonstrate that SNM-VFI achieves strong perceptual quality, competitive reconstruction accuracy, and robust temporal coherence across diverse motion scenarios.

LongE2V: Long-Horizon Event-based Video Reconstruction, Prediction, and Frame Interpolation with Video Diffusion Models

Recovering high-quality video from sparse event streams is a challenging task. Regression methods often blur textures, while existing generative models struggle with long-term stability. We propose LongE2V, a novel approach that leverages pre-trained video diffusion priors to jointly handle event-based video reconstruction, prediction, and frame interpolation. By fine-tuning a foundational video model, our approach achieves high data efficiency and superior perceptual quality. We introduce Autoregressive Unrolling and Adaptive Context Switching to mitigate temporal drift in extremely long sequences. We also propose Reencoding Alignment with Cross Residual Correction to ensure precise bidirectional consistency during frame interpolation. Furthermore, Event Voxel Density Augmentation ensures robustness across varying sensor resolutions. Extensive experiments on real-world benchmarks demonstrate that LongE2V outperforms state-of-the-art methods across all three tasks, exhibiting exceptional temporal coherence and zero-shot generalization.
